Quick question on anastrozole.

Can it cause bad indigestion and or GERD?

I've been experiencing it quite badly the last 4 days to the point where I can't even eat. ?

Any info on this or what could possibly be causing this would be great!

Nausea, vomiting, or abdominal pain are not uncommon. No evidence to date that it would elicit acid reflux. High protein diets will increase stomach acidity. People often fail to appreciate how diet can affect GI motility and stomach pH.

Are you taking any oral anabolics? These will often upset the balance of stomach flora as well.

Have you tried to manage the discomfort with an H2 antagonist, PPI, or prokinetic drugs?

Thanks for the info. I have def upped my protein for this cycle but not a drastic amount.

And yes they prescribed me protonix. I'm going to give it a few days and see how it goes.

Also no, it's my first cycle so no orals for me just test.

Protonix is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). These are generally quite effective for acid reflux, however, they do lead to unpleasant rebound effects so you will need to titrate your dose down when coming back off. Protonix can also elevate liver enzymes so I suggest taking some NAC if not already.

Most PPIs typically take 5-7 days to provide maximum benefit.

GERD usually returns and intensifies for a few days.
