Business went to shit
After two years of consistent solid work while going to school my current "trade" went to crap.
So WTF do I do now. . . . ?
I sure hate this fresh start feeling when I least expected it. . . . And I'm still not done with school
Fuark
That was it

I'm right there with you man..... 8 years of working hard to make it far in a profession only to have it cave. Then start fresh in a new profession only to get laid off for cheaper labor lmao
I'm in fvck it mode
-
Well. . . . I call it a trade.
I been pushing gray market cell phones for about two years. It was great up until the recent changes. . . . The only thing I got give cRapple and shit bag At&t is that they finally caught on & really made my "job" impossible.
The question is what to do now. . . . I have too much on the line to have my hands on shit that I shouldn't. . . Going back to "real" work means no more school. There is no way in how hell I am living off school debt.
This kinda leaves me here, with that WTF do I do now kinda feeling.
At this time last year I was making some serious cash - - - - This year, not so much.
Yeah, that covers my real job when I had one. I had solid experience & solid pay. Then the economy went to shit and so did my job. With my experience I am qualified to do jack shit & I was forced to start over. That's why I said fvck it and went back to school.
Now - Most likely I wont even be able to stay in schoolLast edited by < <Samson> >; 12-03-2013 at 01:16 PM.

I'm getting my personal training cert. most people fail in that field but a friend of mine has a very successful business and wants to hire me. Also.... We have a lot of rich older women that pay. $200/hr to ride bikes with trainers.....
I hafta do what I love now..... No other options

I keep saying it but no one wants to listen.. Take your clothes off and do private shows. Lots of $$ and you'll stay busy.
Ask austin, he does it.

Damn bro - I'm right there with you man. I would seriously love to be a higher end trainer. It looks like a fun field that I have a lot of interest in.
But, being at the L.A. Fitness is just depressing. The trainers are out of shape, under paid & pissed off. I don't have a homey hook up into the training field. So where in fvck would I go if I got into the fitness field where I can make real money?

I wish you the best homie. I survived of "buy and sell" for half a year. But sometimes what I nought and had to sell wasn't easy. I'm the type that believes if there's room for profit, I'm in- whatever that profit comes from I couldn't care less... but those days are over as I have kids that manage my risk levels and a real good job...for now... I hear canada is looking for talent. Particularly tradesmen.
Ever consider working the pole? LoL I know Its a good paycheck for guys too!

Well IMO when it comes to training you'll have to seperate yourself from the pack. Market yourself and become an expert in what the people are looking for.
I look at it this way..... I know the typical gym trainer doesn't make a lot but if I'm putting the work into myself and a business for me..... Whether it fails or not atleast I'm not workin for someone else.
I'm done doing shit I hate.... It's time for a change. As you can see I'm trying to remain positive haha

You may be onto something. . . Just be gigolo - Honey, I'm going to work. . . I'll be back on Monday, lol
I feel the same way. But, money is money. . . And I need a fair share of it support the lifestyle my family and I are used to living. I am the only one who brings in money between 6 people. One other works, but makes in a month what I am used to making in a week.
Still shocked by how this shit buckled so suddenly.Last edited by < <Samson> >; 12-03-2013 at 02:10 PM.

"Pushing" grey market phones, or selling them? If it's sales, then you've got a very marketable skill set and you could go into a commission only based company and sell the shit outta whatever they are "pushing" and make a very good living and with the right company still go to school.

Sorry to hear about the biz. My family is in the same boat. Small business car repair is being crushed by big auto insurance. Not mad just life. I hope to keep my job for a couple more years. Going to college full time at night work full time during the day. Business is going down hill fast though. Blessing in disguise, hated that fvcking job. It's possible man. Good luck. There's lots of help out there.

I think most people here on this forum could be a PT if they tried. It helps if you look good too, I mean really.

Funny, that's my "true" trade. I went UTI for auto & diesel about 7 years ago. I finished school & was lucky enough to already have a high paying office job. So, I never went to work in a shop - My friend did, he was making 30% less than me, I said fvck that.
Then I got a awesome super blue collar outside job. Economy went to shit & my job vanished.
Ever since I been working shit on the side & going to school. . . . My first idea was side auto repair. I made hell of good $ for quite a bit, but this shit was a beating. Me & another guy did bumper to bumper repair & roadside.
It got old and I came up on my new phone repair & sales shit. It has been solid cash for almost 2 years. I was making just a little less than the auto repair, but I had plenty of time to go to school.
Now, I am thinking of opening a legit small repair shop. But, shit like this scares me. . . . I can't afford to throw money away.

It's very difficult to become a direct repair shop for big insurance companies these days. There's money to be made but its capped. The insurance company says if your on our program we pay you x amount and you get our insureds work. Even independent body shops can't raise their rates. The insurance company's pay a pervasive rate for the area. It sucks but you might have luck. I've been doing this since 97. Knowing what I know I wouldn't invest a dime and my dad owns the place.

Sorry to hear op but shel be right theres plenty of money out there to be made you will be fine. My old boss went bankrupt 7 times before he made it now he just cracked the top 50 richest men in aus. Funny thing is his wife was sick of him going bankrupt so she left him just before he made it rich hahaha big mistake she made.
Whats that quote " I have not failed I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work" Something like that.
-
Yup, my luck officially went to shit
Money - Gone
Work - Gone
Went to Vegas - Lost money, won nothing
Haven't gained a pound even after eating a ton for over a month
Pretty sure my sauce is very close to bunk
Girl's car blew another engine, which I just replaced exactly a month ago
Could be worse
But, damn
Ho Ho Ho mothafvcka - No Christmas in this house this year. SOB! ! ! ! ! !

Maybe it's time to go legit??? No more black/grey market... Something with a retirement, pension or at least a future? It might also be a good lesson to learn when you are making all that good easy money to put 20% or more away for emergencies such as this. Just some things to think about.
-
Lol, 20% - I'm set for a bit, even with these set backs. But, losing income is not a good feeling.
Going to school was my way of going legit someday. Without a education, I'm not qualified to do much - for real pay @ least.
I can't afford to get a job - Pretty lame, I know
