Correcting people at the gym
Do you ever correct people? If ever, do you think it's appropriate? Have you ever received pointers/corrections that you appreciated? If someone comes up to you and delivers bad, unsolicited advice what's the most politic way of handling it?
Most of the time I have my headphones on and simply go from station to station not looking at anyone just staying in the zone and I would probably not notice anyone doing something unless it was pretty crazy and dumb. In these extreme cases I tend to ask the person what the benefit of that exercise is.
Thanks

Never...... I let people carry on with whatever it is they're doing. If they want advice - they can ask.

I'm the only one in the gym...even if I am surrounded by 20 ppl.

if you went around and correcting everyone in the gym that is doing an exercise with bad form.. you would never be able to finish your own workout....
besides isn't that the job for the people that work there?

Never either really, unless someone talks to me I don't really mention anything to them tbh not worth the hassle in their minds they are right

It's tempting sometimes, but short lived. I'm in there for me.

Plenty of PT's train their clients with shitty form. smh
No I don't correct others form but when you've been going to a gym long enough you get to see who are serious and who are there for a quick fix. There was a gym regular, one of the guys you nod to but don't chat up. He gets up after a set on the bench rubbing his shoulder. I approach him and say "shoulder bothering you?" He says yes and I tell him how I used to have the same damn problem until I corrected my form. Just a couple weeks ago he came up to me and said his shoulder feels great and thanks for the advice.
I've also had others give me a little advice on my form and BOOM rear delt grows! So yeah I'll help those who do work and are serious about their gym time. The others well I let them do whatever they feel like doing.

No. Unless someone is about to seriously injur themselves, I would keep to myself. Haven't seen that yet.

Never.
However, recently I did see a couple of work mates at my gym, doing squats, one was going straight down, the other was not, and I gave a little bit of banter about how he should also be going all the way down as well, even if it means dropping weight.
Other than that, no. It's kinda cool though when someones been watching you, then they start doing the same exercise you've just been doing when you leave the equipment
