We have a strict policy of letting the DO control inmate but this was assault on a medical staff so I had to the right to defend myself. Believe me there was a LOT of paper work and the video was reviewed by both the sheriffs office and my companies management was called in. I was interviewed and given a drug test, urine, and was cleaned. He had been acting totally normal and just snapped.
This person did end up testing positive to PCP, Meth and a few other drugs. He is now housed in Medical. He has a long history of being in mental hospitals and was off his meds. I feel for the guy now in some ways, it was not his choice to have mental disease but at the same time he should not have been doing drugs. From what I have heard he is on a 2/5 protocol (2 Ativan, 5 Haldol) if moved at all. He only gets Tylenol for pain and his antipsychotic drugs. When cleared my medical he will be in seg or moved to a mental health type prison.
I am very lucky compared to the female nurse that was attacked before me. She was stabbed in the neck with her own pen and cant work anymore.
