cover songs you didn't know were covers....
....or you were surprised who the original artist was...
I recently learned Scarlet Beggonias (sp?) was not written by Sublime lol years ago I was shocked that Babe I'm Gonna Leave You wasn't a Led Zeppelin original haha oh and I didn't know Boney M did Rivers of Babylon (check out Rasputin by them, best disco song imo)

Babe I'm Gonna Leave You is a fun one to play on the guitar too.
Back in the day I wasn't aware of all the covers that Great White made money on either

One of my favorite songs "All Along The Watchtower" covered by Jimi Hendrix, many may or may not have known that it was originally a Bob Dylan song.

I too play guitar and Babe was the first one I learned to finger pick on, it taught me how....hmm, I wonder how many Great White tunes are covers that I want aware of....holy shit once bitten is a cover!!??
Venom, I was aware but I know so many people who weren't, same with Van Halen covering the Kinks

I know this thread is about songs we never knew were covers but if you like listening to cover songs, Metallica many years ago released a 2 cd collection called "Garage Inc" which are all cover songs and some very good ones if I may add.

Anything cover related is cool, especially if it's about Metallica bud!! The Wait, last caress green hell, Tuesday's give, oh and I think my favorite, besides all of them, is the Queen cover, Stone Cold Crazy, I gotta go listen to that now!!

Nirvana's The Man Who Sold the World is a David Bowie cover. Also, Black Crows Hard to Handle is an Otis Redding track from the 60s.

I knew the nirvana, but that surprises me as I know quite a few Redding tunes but only knew the Black Crows version
