cover songs you didn't know were covers....

....or you were surprised who the original artist was...

I recently learned Scarlet Beggonias (sp?) was not written by Sublime lol years ago I was shocked that Babe I'm Gonna Leave You wasn't a Led Zeppelin original haha oh and I didn't know Boney M did Rivers of Babylon (check out Rasputin by them, best disco song imo)

Babe I'm Gonna Leave You is a fun one to play on the guitar too.

Back in the day I wasn't aware of all the covers that Great White made money on either

One of my favorite songs "All Along The Watchtower" covered by Jimi Hendrix, many may or may not have known that it was originally a Bob Dylan song.

Wagon Wheel also done by Dylan but done sooo much better by Old Crow Medicine Show. If anyone says Darius Rucker (Hootie), I'm coming through the damn screen lol.

I know this thread is about songs we never knew were covers but if you like listening to cover songs, Metallica many years ago released a 2 cd collection called "Garage Inc" which are all cover songs and some very good ones if I may add.

Anything cover related is cool, especially if it's about Metallica bud!! The Wait, last caress green hell, Tuesday's give, oh and I think my favorite, besides all of them, is the Queen cover, Stone Cold Crazy, I gotta go listen to that now!!

Sorry for the confusion. Dylan wrote it and OCMS covered it.

Nirvana's The Man Who Sold the World is a David Bowie cover. Also, Black Crows Hard to Handle is an Otis Redding track from the 60s.

I knew the nirvana, but that surprises me as I know quite a few Redding tunes but only knew the Black Crows version
