6 day water only diet?? WTF...
I was reading a copy of GQ at lunch today that somebody left behind. There was an article in there about a 6 day water diet. How is this even possible, I can't believe the BS some people will try.

On my final day without food, I wake up at 5 A.M. I slept in! And all of a sudden, I feel tremendous. Light, energetic, unreasonably cheerful. This is maybe the runner's high of fasting, and it's hit me just as my fast is ending.

I hadn't bargained for so much bed rest, and if you can't sleep or have sex in a bed, it's just a slightly softer floor, and you're lying on it in the middle of your room, starving, wondering when they will come and find you.
Awesome....

They call it a plant-strong diet. I call it vegan minus joy, where joy equals salt, sugar, and oil. Processed foods are out, and so is anything scooped from an animal's body, however local or hand-groomed the beast was. Some people would rather die than eat this way.
I primarily eat only things scooped from animals.

I think that was a typo. It's 6 day Malnutrition diet.

I use to date a chick who would run 5 miles a day and drink water only for a week and would lose 20 pounds.

People need to stop dieting (except for the crazy guys on here wanting a six-pack) and just eat healthy. The word diet should be banned and replaced with strategic eating.
Thanks

I dont see the problem. Obviously its not a body builder diet. More like a extreme fat diet. But you can last a long long time with out food.

Sounds like it was designed by an Australian. No matter how you train its completely retarded and they have no idea what would happen once you go back eating normally again. I knew I shouldn't have opened this thread lol

I went on a diet like that once, but now that I think about I was stranded in a boat in the middle of the pacific and had no choice.

Mate,
It's not a diet. It's called fasting and is practiced by millions of people around the world.
My dad did a modified version of this when I was a kid. he would fast for 30 days. EXCEPT for a few ounces of predigested liquid protein daily, and some diet orange soda to cut the flavor (nasty bitter). he would lose a pound a day he would lose an incredible amount of weight, and he claims he felt great doing this (after the first two days)
I didn't read your article. But I'm familiar with the concept of fasting.

There are a ton of Ethiopians that practice this "diet" all the time. We have a word for it. It's called 'starvation.' It's not really a good idea and only a dipshit would even try doing this stupid scheme... Marcus is right though, an Australian must've thought this one up.

This is how these dingbats on realty "Survival" type shows end up losing a ton of weight. Just because something works, doesn't mean it's right or healthy. Many of them ended up in ER's.

I remember an episode of Full House, where DJ was trying to starve herself into losing weight. Didn't work well for her.
