    Contemplating switching Gyms

Ive been at the same gym for 4-5years now. Good gym, oldish equipement buts lots of it, large gym to, but I feel I need a change. For the same price I can go to a 24/7 gym, theres heaps of them around my area so I can train at anyone, newer equipement, but its not really a bodybuilding gym, weights only go up to 50kgs and limited machines, but I feel I need a change. Getting to comfortable with my gym and the people and know everyone which yes may be good for a spot but its not good when they keep talking to you etc etc, I think I just need the change tbh but im on the edge, im going down today to recheck this new gym out to see if there is anymore equipement since I last checked a few months ago when it first opened. What would you guys do? I also like the fact that this new gym has 2 entrances so you can go around the bank entrance where it isn't manned and have no one greet you upon entrance etc, when im in a bad mood the last thing I want is someone sitting on the desk saying OH hi how are you etc.

    What do you think fellas?

If you feel like you need a change man, then go for it. But it doesn't sound like those 24/7s have the equipment you need to go heavy

Yeh that's true man, 24/7 is great tho. Problem is, dumbells only go up to 50KG im pushing 60s for 6 reps at my gym yesterday, 50s I can get like 20 reps out lol But that's all I can do 50s for ATM, dumbbell press im up to 45s but they get heavy so im sure 50s will last for a while. Ill have to see how many benches and stuff they have. Dumbells suit me for most things but the machines compliment them well. Still deciding

Do not join a gym that doesn't have the steel to meet your needs.

I use to go to one of them 24/7 gyms was a member for say 2 years.it was sold or change hands 3 times and each time they want to mess with contract and fees - was a pain in ass if u ask me-and did really like it seem small. place now been there a while like you. grant it does suck people want to bullshit but everyone kinds of knows each other maybe peace of mind and I feel my stuff/car is safer there-people kinder got ur back.
    My 2 cents

I'm burnt out on my gyms. Mainly because I'd like to train around others who have similar goals. However, there aren't any powerlifting gyms remotely close to me. I'd love to have a home gym as I had many years ago. It's actually where I built my foundation.

My music, my schedule, my attire, my workout.

I bought all my equipment used off the classifieds. People would buy some nice equipment and then never use it.

I had a smith machine, squat/power rack, seated leg press, bench press (multi-position with leg extension and preacher curl attachment), power block dumbbells up to 85, vertical leg press (always wanted a leg sled), powertec bench press and powertec leverage squat/calf and tons of plates so I didn't have to move them around. Also a heavy bag for cardio. Man I miss that.

I think I need a change too. I'm tired of Golds'

If they don't have the weights to fit your needs, I wouldn't join. I know the feeling of needing a change though. Have you tried going at a different time? Seeing different faces kinda helped for myself when I felt the need to change gyms

I've found 24/7 are lacking weights/equipment like you said. The locally owned gyms IMHO usually don't have the nicest looking equipment but itll get the job done. When it comes to a gym i think quantity is better than quality. A shiny new bbarbell won't make you any bigger

If I had the space for a good home gym, I'd probably quit my membership. And I don't mean those stupid total gyms or bowflexes.
