How bad is it? Any vomiting? I had it in 1999. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. I was hospitalized for 48 hours. Meclizine (Antivert) is Rx for serious cases.

Easy peasy. You have to reset your ear crystals. Your wife can do it.

Not terrible if I lay down, but once I move, spin city. I've never had it before. Nausea, but no vomiting. I have some promethazine 12.5 mg from past food poisoning. I read that helps. Took one.

Do one way. Then do the other way.

Your wife will actually see your eyes twitching right to left and back when she guides u back into the final position.

May have to repeat in a few days.

    Hope u find relief.

Been there, bud. If it gets worse, go to dr./er. Doc put a small patch behind the affected ear and it was gone in a couple hours. I had it really bad last May. It is a horrible feeling. I couldn't walk. Good luck.

We gave it a whirl, but I don't think we did it right. I think the promethazine helped some. I'm situated in a prone position and hopefully can sleep this way. Gonna try again in the morning. Thanks again.

Hopefully it goes away, if not, I'm going somewhere to get help. That's how I am, I can't walk. I wonder if it was a motion sickness patch they used. Thanks man.

The treatment GGR recommended works best with a specific form of vertigo referred to benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). It is the more common form and most often results from calcium salts in the otoconial membrane of the inner ear. BPPV usually lasts less than a minute per occurrence. Patients afflicted with BPPV will often report auditory hallucinations as well.

Vestibular neuritis (VN) is another form of vertigo that does NOT respond to the therapy GGR suggested. Symptoms are similar to BPPV but auditory hallucinations are less common and the etiology is viral not mechanical as is the case with BPPV. VN was the form I had and believe me, I thought I was dying. It was horrendous!!! Methylprednisone, meclizine, and (in extreme cases) scopolamine are the primary treatment strategies for VN.

If the condition is not improving or if it is progressing to more severe symptoms, an ER visit is indicated.

Sorry I can't offer a more optimistic suggestion. It's unpleasant and often requires medical intervention - especially viral/inflammatory cases.

Go up on a tall building, look over the edge, fall. Problem fixed.

Thanks buddy. I've been fighting a basic cold the last few days, but I've been feeling better. Ears haven't bothered me at all. I feel better today. I'm hoping it was just a one-time occurrence.

Thanks again for the info. I had some promethazine around from last time I had food poisoning. Took two of those to stop nausea and it knocked me out. Today I feel better. Saved by Phenergan again. I think that might be my next tattoo.
