    36 years old

I turn 36 in the spring . I lift five days a week and do cardio one day a week " I hate cardio " I tipped the scale this morning at 195 pounds.
I'm scheduling a dr visit for a full work over . Is there any thing I should pay close attention to or ask the doc.

My father died of cancer at 61. And had a heart attack at 37

What kind of cancer? You can ask for a DNA screening for it.

I would see about getting a full heart workup done with the treadmill and ultrasound to look for any type of blockage or weak valve.

Rcc renal cell carcinoma in the kidney. Dad didn't ever got to the doctor for any thing. He finally went in for a sore him and the mass showed up on his the scan they did. It had taken over and grown quickly. They gave him a year. He made it a year and a half. The end was bad.just meds to ease the pain. I don't want to go thru that. And the thought of my family going thru it with me is scary.

Hey noon. Sorry to hear about what your dad went through, as well as you and your family.

Cancer runs pretty ramped in my family as well.

37 is crazy young to have a heart attack. Are you aware of any circumstances that could have caused this? For example, was your dad out of shape, did he drink a lot or use rec drugs? Or was he in relatively good shape and just a weak heart? I'm very curious because I have become paranoid about my heart as well and would like to know.

    Thx bro

    ^this.

You can start with a full CBC and Lipids profile (plus hormones, test, E, thyroid, etc). Throw in PSA as well. Then go from there.

Like igi asked, what was your fathers lifestyle around your age?

BW, BW. In the Finding A Doc sticky in the HRT Forum is a good list of BW. Instead of the normal lipid test I'd request an advanced lipo profile (NMR) which will really give you a much better look.

Look good noon! Is that the Pink Panther in the laundry basket?

Ah in the basket that is a pink teddy bear named Sammy . The baby girl has him in time out because he lost her shoes. Lol

He was a smoker which I'm sure didn't help. He only drank on occasions we hike and camped had a pretty normal life.
Dad was for sure a steak and potato and that's a meal that he ate three time a week. I my self keep my red meat to a min even tho I love it more than any other meal. Even with the red meat still seams early to have heart issues.
No drug use ever he was against all rec type drugs

If you have medical benefits you should get everything done every year. Blood work 3 times a year, EKG, stress test, shit if it didnt cost so much I would do a full mri body scan lol

I agree with the PSA levels, also unfortunately I think the finger in the ass falls into that age category as part of a yearly check up.

Man that's crazy noon. Again, sorry to hear all this. My little brother had cancer as well and survived. Most family members who have had it did not.

Keep taking care of yourself and as stated above, get BW to see exactly where you are healthwise

    Good luck.
