    Taurus - Public Defender Polymer

Anybody have a Taurus Public Defender? Thinking about getting one for the wife but she's small and I'm not sure if she can handle the recoil. She's got a Sig 9mm already, but I want more of a point and shoot gun for her and since it can fire either .45 and/or .410 buck shot out of it, I thought it would be a good choice. Can anybody comment particularly if your small framed gf/wife has shot it.

    Thanks

I have one I picked up cheap from some one who doesn't like it. I think it's great for the car.
My wife has shot it and she will not touch it again she is small frame 115 lbs. she describes the recoil as sharp.

Humm...my wife is 95lb. I would love to find a place we can shoot it first but there's nothing around here.

True...I might drive up to the next larger town and find a gun store that has a demo for us to shoot first.

Berreta nano in 9mm is a great all day carry piece for a women the back straps offer multiple options to fit a small hand. And for a pistol to be caried it has to be comfortable.

She currently has a 9mm subcompact sig that she uses for all day carry and she can shoot it really well. I'm just worried about how well she'll be able to react and aim in high pressure situation which is why I was thinking about the public defender since it can shoot buck shot.

Fun gun. A buddy of mine used to carry it in his plow truck for when he'd have jobs in sketchy areas.

Concentrate less on the right gun and more on her practical skills. If she is confident in her ability with the firearm she will perform at a higher level. Since very few ppl can actually pull the trigger in the first place, I would spend more time developing muscle memory and confidence with the gun she already shoot well.
