Dallas is cool I enjoyed it for the few days I was there last year but we went car tuning shops and the like, we also went to austin for the formula 1 which was brilliant great atmosphere there and people were really nice.
There was a football game on the same weekend as the f1 but it clashed with the race so we missed it but i would like to go and experience that. In austin there is plenty of retaurants and bars

I've been to loads of F1 races before but only European races, in Europe its a bit ohh f1 is back again and its nearly more expensive than America.
When we were in America they put on a full festival etc loads of free music and places to go etc really enjoyed it and the track was brilliant could see a good chunk of track no matter were you were really standing.

We'll in the states here there is a saying that there isn't anything but steers and queers in Texas so thT should pretty much sum it up.

Steer and queer? So gays and castrated bulls? Why do they say that? I thought texas was the richest state?

Are you just looking for spots to vacation at? Or live for a while?
I'd recommend you head to New Orleans. Lots of culture and the food is unbelievable!
I'm not from Texas but live there now. Plenty of steers and queers for ya

If it is a vacation to the states your looking for California cannot be beat. It has everything.

California, NYC, Florida......
California because you can do everything there......
NYC also has a lot to offer. Lots of sites, every kind of food you can imagine including some of the best restaurants in the US..... There's a lot a lot to do nearby NYC including beaches and whatnot.
Florida has great weather, theme parks like Disney, the best beaches in the US.

Only reason I can think of I would want to do in Texas (besides the strip clubs) would be see the Alamo. If it's amusement I would go with Florida like Haz says. I am from the West coat, East coast beaches are much better, warmer water, nicer beaches. If you are on the West Coast go to Reno or Vegas. Siince it's during December find some good local ski resorts even if you dont ski. Give it a try for a day. Reno or Lake Tahoe again is good.

There is good fishing on the coast - especially up until June. It gets awfully hot in July and August. Houston and Dallas are both really big cities with all of the good and bad that goes with such. Both have excellent restaurants and the arts scene isn't bad (its not NYC, but wtf?) Austin is really great and has the best live music scene anywhere. San Antonio has lots of history. The hill country is beautiful - especially in the spring. If you're into hunting and / or fishing, there are thousands of great options. Basically, Texas has a little of whatever you are into - except skiing - we don't have much of that at all.

I presume the elusive Austinite lives in Austin, Texas. You can go on a man hunt to find him, you just need a trail of bananas leading up to a stripper as bait.
