    Kabul INternational Airport closed............

..........due to Taliban rocket attack. Closed for almost a day, now open.

Not sure if anyone seen this on the news?

If you want to know what is going on in this neck of the woods, recommend Al Jazera. it is available in the states if you know where to look.

In case some of you didn't know, the Taliban offensive is timed to the presidential elections, happening in about a week. The promise of more and severe attacks by the Taliban against expats seems like it is in process of being kept.

DISH doesn't offer Al Jazera, at least not in my package. Title of post made me think flight 370 had been "found"... Frickin Taliban are some dedicated bastards! Stay safe over there.

I startefd watching this news channel lately but read it has an arab bias but who knows. People have no idea what the **** is going on as the media dictates what the government wants.

Vice which is on HBO just aired a special about Jihad university in Pakistan. These kids enrolled and are most likely future terrorist because their family was a US drone bombing causlities.

So its a catch 22 that if you dont kill suspected terrorists but if you do and miss you create a 100 more

Al Jazeera used to be a great news outlet, but in the past year or so they've definitely declined in quality. There's been an exodus of quality reporters out of that outlet in the past few years due to Qatar's hold on it. I take it with a grain of salt these days, but good for a different perspective.

Keep safe TR. I would not want to be over there in constant harms way and having to watch your back 24/7.

Even though things are messed up here back at home it's still 100x better than most of the world. I just hope it stays that way.
