Maybe Lunk can chime in. Is this normal??
Probably better played on Mute if you don't want to hear poor language.

Cruel prick one law for them and one for us.
We have had several and as a life long dog owner I am appalled at the way they are often treated. Believe it or not, a lot of this is how the officer is trained by the K9 trainer to handle the animal. I have seen excessive use of a shock collar and other forms of "discipline" that I would never allow on my dog.
The last one we had, the trainer convinced the rookie handler that the dog should be kept out in a kennel and rarely socialized with because it takes the drive out of them...BS! 90% of K9 training is spent teaching the handler to make lame excuses!

I can't watch animal abuse videos. It lights this fire in me and immediate anger sets in. I get anxiety thinking what might happen if I ever witness the abuse in person.
Guys a dickhead, someone needs to do that to him. Power drunk cvnt
I own a shepherd and would trade my fiancee in before him. Probably anyone before him but sometimes they need to be corrected and the ceesar sneeze touch doesn't get the job done with a working dog that isn't neutered. I think it was excessive as the dog was not acting out after the initial correction. Believe me they don't feel it. They are tough as nails but I know that doesnt make it right.
Remember most of the dogs the police get are terrible lines of dogs. They are usually runts of litters that are donated and have poor tempermants. Top of the line GSD cost 2500-5000 and thats not what they spend. When I walk my dog sometimes we walk past a a nyc k9 cop and their dog looks like utter shit comared to mine. Floppy ears, poor colors, super aggresisve for no reason.

We can agree to disagree. As an enthusiast and owner for the breed I have yet to see a police dog that rivals mine. I also had a retired k-9 cop who trained my dog tell me that police dogs had TREMENDOUS drive but lacked other traits the breed should have. He actually offered to buy my dog after working with him a couple of hours.
I know what 10k dogs look like and they are not owned by le. If you are talking about a dog that is trained to schuzthund level 3 and then sold at 2 years old. I could believe that. They are paying for a dog that is similar to car with all the options. But straight form birth 5-10k def not.
Perfect example. This video is a top dog for the seals. Now its drive is probably through the ****ing rough but from traits of the breed he looks like shit. His coloring is off and his ears are not 100% straight up look at 45 seconds.

Now the pic is a top of line GSD and will probably run you 2500-5k at 8 weeks with advanced training forget it. You are talking 20-40k
