What do you think?
I have mixed emotions about this kindergarten teacher putting her hands on this child.
One the one hand, it is clearly wrong and she needs to be disciplined.
One the other hand, I believe it only to be slightly traumatic to the child. Mom blows it out of proportion on national TV, crying. Now they've hired an attorney? Really? Sounds like someone is trying to cash in on a big payday to me. And if so, this is probably the best thing financially that has happened to this family in a while.
What do you think?

no no no
don't get me wrong.
the teacher is absolutely in the wrong.
my disappointment with the parents is that they are using this as a spring board to leverage a payday out of the system.
back in my day, paddling was not out of the question, albeit only the principle was allowed to do this.

if parents do a good-enough job, then teachers will only need to teach.
discipline should be taught at home.
overly physical punishments from teachers will also need to be dealt with. let the cops decided if it's physical abuse or assault.Last edited by AD; 05-16-2014 at 09:31 PM.

sorry mate. disagree. I'm thinking of myself as an example. it didn't matter how much my folks whipped on me. Or how many times I was put on restriction. There are certain children that defy discipline, regardless how great the parents are or how much discipline bestowed on them.
And then they gave me drugs to settle me down...............

Teacher needs fired, counseling and not allowed to teach or be involved with kids in any way because she has major anger issues if she will go that far.
The kid will be fine and it will be forgotten if it was not for the parents blowing it up and as you said trying to cash in. I would be fine knowing the teacher is gone and not allowed to be around kids.
I'm I am allowed to pick up my kid, shake them and grab their throat.... j/k, my wife is allowed to also.
You mean like that decided 30 some years ago? How is that working out for America education. We are now around #30 in the word instead of the top 3, right?
Kids have not fear/respect for their elders or educators and know they can act out as pleased so that's what they do. There needs to be discipline but it needs to fit the crime.
Personally I think they need to also split boys and girls up after age 10. It's been proven not only are they a distraction being together but boys and girls really do learn differently. Duh...Last edited by lovbyts; 05-16-2014 at 09:36 PM.

Physical discipline should only be done by parents. Thats really the end of it....
I believe parents are way too ****ing soft. I believe in disciplining physically in certain situations as long as its not excessive or clearly not working. Wow, if anyone hit my kid forget it.

I was in Dusseldorf Germany airport over summer coming home from Europe and this kid talk his sister and dragged her off the bench by her hair and she fell really bad. The mother belted him in his face and that little shit deserved it. If that happened in the US forget it the police would have been called on the mother.
My sister in law has two kids. Old daughter who is a spoiled little shit who keeps hitting her 1 year old brother out of jealousy. She kicked her brother in the face twice. My sister in law smacked her hand and she started crying ran right into the fathers arm who started counsoling her. Basically teaching her its ok to do these things. There are a lot of dumb people out there!

There are laws regarding this type of abuse and it's irrelevant what happened in the old days it's now what counts. There are ways and means to go about discipline and if your not educated enough to implement these without causing this type of physical harm then let the law do its job.
