    Gym Attire

What do you normally wear in the gym?

What do you consider appropriate and inappropriate?

For me, I stick with basketball/gym shorts, a snug fitting tee, not compression tight, headphones, and running shoes.

I am not a big fan of flat-billed caps, the thin string tank tops, or flashy basketball shoes. Toe shoes I do not care for much either. I do occasionally wear a normal tank top and baseball cap if it is a morning work out and I do not feel like washing my hair beforehand. Also, as mentioned before, those compression shirts that are skin tight just look a little goofy to me.

I do not care much for gloves or any kind of external support when lifting. I have always incorporated a good grip workout into my routine so I have never had any issues and had to use straps. I also enjoy having rough hands. Then again, I do admit I have never deadlifted 700lbs so I will give some guys some credit. If you are toting around 60lb dumbbells then I think that is another story and a little embarrassing.

tank top, shorts to mid thigh. gloves, straps, belt. black and white basketball shoes. black socks.

(i wear my belt under my tanktop, so it's not obvious.)

in addition to the (un)acceptable attire, it has been mentioned before in another thread, a lot of clowns like to hold their lat spread pose the whole time. i just roll my eyes at them.

Sweat pants and a tank top. If I swear a tee shirt it's soaking wet and uncomfortable.

Unacceptable wear...... Toe shoes..... I just can't stand looking at em.

I do have a belt and wrist supports. I only wear them on back day and for squats/leg press

lol. Everyone wore gloves at one point. Then one day Arnold said... "Gloves are for girly men". The next day, no one at the gym wore gloves.

In the land of China EVERYONE wears the same thing to the gym..it is like clones. I am a sore thumb...basketball shorts and loose Dri-weave shirt. When i work out I make sure the aircon is off and windows open...sweat like a sausage at a German BBQ Buffet.

Only thing that bothers me with attire are people who do NOT bring a towel to the weight area.

I actually really liked toe shoes as far as comfort and how light they are. Then like everything else, everyone started showing up in them and ruined it for me.

    I hate toe shoes!!
but that is because I have a Fred Flintstone big toe and all my others are short stubby and curled under...they almost go at a 45 degree angle...so only my big toe would be in the right spot all the others would just be in the body of the shoe...
My gym is at home so I wear jeans, t-shirt and work boots straight from work. I don't even go in my house, just straight to the gym otherwise my kids will be all over me and butt hurt if I don't spend time with them or take them with me.

I have mixed feelings concerning toe shoes. Yes I own some. On one hand they are comfortable and do work out different muscles when worn but are hard on the knees as my running form isn't perfect. On the other hand I have hit my foot on the corner of a weight rack and fractured it where it probably would've been just a bruise in regular shoes.

to each his own. personally i dont give a dang.. i doubt anyone thinks im gay when im in there wearing them. but most importantly they have helped me with my lifts. may just be mental.. managed 495 on dead 9weeks into my cut. pretty happy with it considering my PR prior was 465.

ive been hitting deads hard the last several weeks trying to get my technique down. they really do help me.

ranger i would not wear them when running, they dont have any cushion. i cant run anymore anyways. ive had to learn that lesson the hard way.
