The Macro Calculator: Deluxe Version
Mates,
I spent more time on this today. This is an interactive spreadsheet that will calculate your macros for you:
1) Macros per meal
2) Macros per day
3) It will calculate your TDEE
4) It will calculate your minimum protein requirement per day in grams
5) Allows for up to eight meals per day
6) Does a variety of analytics including protein deficiency in grams and %, and including macro percentages
7) includes almost 1,000 food items
Take a look at the summary page:
Yours free, just for being a member (gee, isn't that wonderful?)
PM me and I will email it to you
Fair enough?

for those that are interested, just pm me and I will send.
btw, I'm constantly revising, so ok to ask for revision 2.0
here is what yesterday's summary and detail pages look like
There are over 900 food items. Even then, I'm still adding food items daily. But to do so requires a certain amount of Excel "savvy" as all meal tabs need to be mirror images. And since not everyone is at the same skill level, trying to decide the best and easiest way to do this for the lay person.
So this is still a work in process................

welcome.
let me know how it works out for you. if you can see areas that need improvement. Especially in the user interface areas. This will be an evolving tool, as users will be adding food items on the fly. For this to work best, all the food tabs should probably be mirror images. I've got a variety of ideas I'm kicking around for improvements, but I need time to consider the degree of difficulty this will have on the users.

it sure as shit does make it easier. less up front planning. and it allows you to track what you eat on the fly. it also tells you how much more you need to eat by the end of the day in a variety of categories

I can do pretty much anything in Excel........
..........what's an app? =)
apps on a phone require different programming skills, although the programming logic would be identical. If there were a phone app programming language "Wizard" I'd be willing to learn. I have the time since I find myself 'tween (ya, that one's for you LB) jobs right at the moment. Any recommendations or ideas?
(I've programmed quite a few excel spread sheets over the years. This food macro spreadsheet is actually pretty simple comparatively speaking. I created one for a business owner that took over six months to design and create.)

Calculator improvements
Today, I added an "All Days" tab that keeps track of the calories consumed per day with an overall average % broke out by macro type:
it's still a work in process. It will require the operator to do a little leg work, but I'm still working on automating this as much as possible.
Additionally, i'll be trying to add a Glycemic Index broke out by food type, a Glycemic Value, and an average burn time.
If there are other things you would like to see, just let me know. I'm 'tween jobs and have some time I can spend on these little activities.

This is pretty great Roman, if we could combine it with the app I use on my phone it would be the ULTIMATE macro calc!

Android: Android SDK | Android Developers
ipad/iphone: https://developer.apple.com/ipad/sdk/
One of my favorite features on the app I use is barcode scanner.
I can use my phone to scan any food item or supplement I have, it pulls up its nutritional facts and allows me to select how much I consumed.
Accessing that DB of nutritional facts would be a great resource for yours as it is.
