First thing what comes out of their mouths is denial especially the ones who are in a position of trust via employment, normally the second thing what comes out of their mouths is it was the child's fault, she/he instigated it and they went along with it and she/he was also very sexually active so no harm done.

    Cvnts

I also believe the punishment for S.O crimes are not in line with the damage and harm inflicted on the victims and there families.

Well if Mohommad (PBUH) coveted Aisha at the age of 6 and had intercourse with her when she was 9 and close to 2,000,000,000 people follow him, then why the fcuk is the Western media not going after what these people are doing within our communities a lot more than they are?

As a side note: Iraq has just recently lowered the age of marriage to 10 and that is not for two 10 year olds to get married ...... but for old Uncle Mohommad to marry his 10 year old niece that he has coveted since she was 6 or 7

Our society could use some eye for an eye punishment. People would think a little bit more....

Not knowing that it's illegal to have sex with children is like not knowing you have to pay for things in stores. And he is an archbishop, so allegedly someone of standing in the catholic church and we can assume parishioners are encouraged to learn from him, turn to him for counsel, and consider him an authority etc, when the truth is that canines show better understanding of both morality and law.

The only thing that is going to get through to this paedophilic church is for the members who can discern right from wrong to withhold their financial support. If the church's bank accounts took a hit, you can bet the memories of such bishops would instantly be reinvigorated, and they would chuck those kiddie-diddlers out on their ears.

    here's my thinking...

...this vow of celibacy is a cover for devients. Of course, most devients won't or don't want to get married. And the clergy's vow of celibacy is a perfect screen, is it not? No one questions a priest why he is not married and spends so much time with children.

Now think about it. The vow of celibacy includes masturbation and orgasm, does it not? out of all the clergy, how many do you honestly feel are sticking to their vows? IMHO, I would say the percentage is pretty small.

So what good is this vow, if most of the clergy are in violation? Not much, if you ask me. A vow of celibacy warps minds, and denies the most basic of human instincts. So the only ones that can make a vow like that work are probably warped themselves.

Is this the type of people we want running the church?

    ....I don't think so!

It's not like he's actually claiming that he thought pedophilia is legal. He's just playing dumb, like any douche in his position would do.

He is actually from our area and few years back there was a big investigation into one of his churches because of the same crime being committed. The church never admitted any wrong doing but paid out a large sum of money to the victims and moved the accused priest to another church in a different state.

not aiming this at you diesel, just the thought process of the church.

This statement is typical. But is this an act of LOVE, or an act befitting an institution of god?

or is this an act of attorneys, trying to save as many cookies in the cookie jar as they possibly can.

...the institution of the church is sooooo corrupt! It sickens me

It's messed up enough that one person or even a group of people can think this way but how can a whole or majority of a country go along with this??? It's not even just the fact women have no rights, it goes way beyond that. How can a father, brother or most any guy allow that to happen to someone they care about.

That is true some of my catholic friends told me that the church actually had a special fund set up for donations that was used for legal fees for the church.

In England offences against children comes under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 - that's if we are talking about offences what a pedophilia would commit. The word is used to class certain individuals under a huge umbrella which I'm not going to list.

    I agree, Roman.

I have a friend who is a child psychotherapist, and he's pretty clear that sexual abuse seriously screws up people's lives.

What I think is funny is how can anyone think that these kind of people can be rehabilitated. It takes a really perverted individual to abuse a child and I just don't see how that is possible. If someone ever touched any child I knew or if I seen it happening, no way could I let them walk away.

^I'm surprised more pedophiles are not shot on the steps of the courtroom.

Pedophilia is EXTREMELY ANTI SOCIAL, and with a few exceptions (I'm thinking statutory, like the 19yr old male and the 16 yr old female), I think they should have their sex organs removed (penis and testicles, and their nipples removed too, in case they think that is an erogenous zone). Then, they should be given a five year pellet to keep E levels high so they can get big and fat. Additionally, ankle bracelet for the rest of their life, and not allowed around kids. If they violate the restraining order, then we begin taking fingers.

...I didn't know beating a bishop to within an inch of his life was illegal?

Can't we all just shake hands and be friends?

Honestly that doesnt sound extreme to me. People will never be rehabilitated from there sickness, and the are given the chance to ruin other peoples lives. Not many recover form sexual abuse and lead a normal life.

A lot of people have no idea how bad it messes up boys minds when a priest does this to them first off they feel mixed feelings cause it feels good at the time but afterwards there are feelings of dirtyness and guilt for doing it and keeping quiet. And all that crap weighs on their minds. Not to mention they now feel they might be gay cause its with a man. And many kids grow on up doing to other kids what has been done to them. the cycle of pedophilia continues. Or some of thee abused kids turn to drugs and alcohol to cope with the abuse. And for others is suicide. So it does so much damage that perpetuates itself. I know of a few older boys who had this done to them by their priest and they will never be the same. They are wild kids turning tricks on the streets shooting up and just living life on the edge with feelings of worthlessness. I could never reach them. I doubt anyone now can as they go on their path of self destruction courtesy of their church who has nothing but hatred toward homosexuality yet has over the years caused so much homosexual damage. Lets hope the church now continues to police itself in these matters and stops this damage once and for all. Otherwise it's alter boys run for your lives. It's one thing to grow up knowing your gay but another to be forced into it without a voice to say no.
