    2014 and Calgarian

    hi guys,

I just thought I give you guys an update in terms of whats happening since 2014 started for me. I don't share much besides my "encounters" on here and even for that its been a while. I got laid off in January haven't been able to find a job since cause hiring managers have less experience then me. Had severe depression and started drinking. got caught while sitting in the car (not driving with no intension to drive human life is way more important to me then anything) so got arrested lost my driving lic. then the cop forgot to file paper work and had to wait 3 months till they file the paper work. car broke down and find out that its NOT under warranty so 4k out of my pocket. the lawyer I hired to represent me in court I have to give him 6 k. got into an accident guy just ran into me luckily cops didn't find out I was driving with suspended lic. the car is in workshop so driving replacement car. had accident again my fault . my mother in law died after a stroke and suffering from brain hammrige (sp)had to fork out about 1 k for her care and medication. got chest pains end up in ER. BP went crazy high gained 25 lbs in 2 weeks. My doctor was afraid that I will commit suicide so he send me to shrink who suggested to get off the anti- depressant medication cause it can potentially cause high bp. after ER trip end up in cardiology department thank God heart is fine.
The guys who know me on here and in person know that I don't bitch about life but I am not sure at this point what I can do? Just one request please remember me in your prayers. try living on very limited income with the family of 5.
I just thought I share it with yu guys cause you are like my other family,

I was unemployed for about three months after leaving Afghanistan in april this last time.

IT has become a tough field here in Cali. My best buddy is in IT, and has a similar background as you. Was a director at Seagate, and also at Successfactors. Lost his job there, and then after a year and a half, admitted defeat, and took a lower level job. Not to be totally undone, he moved to Tx where the economy is supposed to be booming, and found a job pretty fast. Still not at a director level, but it's less expensive there, and he is happy.

Have you thought about moving to an area where the unemployment rate is low and the economy is "booming"? There are many.

KP hasn't been around much either. Both live in the same area. Not too far from our female member.

How's everyone else doing up there? Your family? KP?

Wow, sorry to hear that life has been so unfair to you lately. I know it's a stupid saying but when it rains it's pours. You have seen a few of my post over the past few years. All you can do it take it one day at a time and take care of what needs taking care of that day.

It's good you got off the anti depressants. It's good your doctor had enough forsight to take you off, to bad they ever put you on them IMO.

It can seem like it's hopeless sometimes but it's not. If you look around you will find people that have it worse. Not that it makes it any better but it puts things in perspective.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I lost mine about 2 years ago to Pancreatic cancer. Ive also had those trips to the ER where they panic and send you over to the heart specialist only to waste most all your day just to tell you that you are fine. FUN...

Try not to do things that are going to make it worse anymore like drinking, that never helps. The weight went on pretty fast so it should come off just as fast. You know what needs done. Stay away from running any cycles until you have all the emotional stuff figured out or you might make it worse without realizing and you dont need to cause an injury making more set backs.

The no job sucks. I hope you can find some work under the table. I was unemployed for almost 2 years one. It all worked out at the last minute where I had nothing left. You have to have faith that there really is a plan, it all happens for a reason and your job is to keep trying to move forward.

Feel free to vent anytime via forum or Pm. It's always good medicine to talk and get things off your check.

Cal dig deep and take care man. You can and will get through this, sometimes when we dont have the strength inside to do things for ourselves and all seems lost we need to look around us and do it for others. You can do what you have always done and do it well, this is a rocky patch on the road of life man. How you feel is a result of what you do. Take small steps and do some positive thngs for yourself every day. I can only share what has worked for me in times of trouble. You are in my thoughts and wish you all the best man.

Oh yeah and speaking of job gaps. TRY to make the most out of it as you can. Go do things you enjoy doing that you normally dont have the time to do. Of course within reason; dont go on a world cruise if you cant afford it. lol

I was laid off 2x for over 1yr. I almost got laid off a 3rd time about 6 years ago and my daughter was all excited because to her that meant we were going camping, quadding, jet skiing and visiting friends on road trips. When given lemons make lemonade.

^^^ x3. I was in the gym for 12-14 hours during the week. I cleaned every closet, scrubbed corners I didn't know existed. Pulled weeds. Who knew those even grow!!! LoL

^ never did catch up to you in the ME Paul. This last project was too intense, too restrictive. We'll catch up some day....

.....you DID say you'd cover the first drink, right?

(can't pass that up, now can I?)

    little update
I got stomach ulcer thats been treated right now and should be gone in 2 weeks. Stopped anti depressants and according to doc the weight will come off in 3 months.
Girly and lov i did made most of it for first 5 months and now its getting to a point that i park in front of the gym and takes quite a while for me to get in. My doc says that the stress is taking physical tole on me but he is pretty confident given how stubborn i am i will pull through.
I just want to thank all of you for the support and encouraging words but honestly i dont think i can dig any deeper as i am already in the bottom. But i do appreciate your support thank you guys.
