I have developed an addiction to Redbull while cutting.

Not sure how it started... I used to drink a small can once a month or so, limiting myself to when I was really tired or needed to concentrate really hard or something.

But now I'm drinking a can almost everyday. At some point I realized that it somehow takes the hunger away, yet contains 0 calories... at least the Absolute Zero version does.

I can eat an incredibly small meal, then drink a small can, then go to the gym feeling like I've had a decent size meal not long ago.

Now I'm able to function on 650 calorie deficit daily, but I doubt drinking a can daily is anywhere near healthy. Not sure what to do? I feel like if I stop, I won't be able to cut anymore, or at least I won't be able to do so as effectively.

The year I dropped out of college I was drinking 10-12 per day and taking the same number of caffeine pills along side them. Some days I still have up to 4 a day plus coffee first thing in the morning. So you are far from the extreme end, but lately I've been able to manage on 1-2 cups of coffee in the morning and keeping my carbs up for energy.

Best thing to do is cut back gradually and stay strong willed. I've been physically dependent on caffeine before and it's terrible, especially the headaches. I just taper off gradually, the slower the easier for me.

I never had any issues with that level of daily intake. I suppose I just have a natural tolerance to things. Last time I had to go under general anesthesia the nurse was a bit baffled when I was still talking to her 15 minutes after they put it in the IV and had to give me another dose to put me down.

I wouldn't call his consumption a daily intake. I would call it a case chugged in a few minutes. He had never drank an energy drink before. He had a bad time and was called an idiot a lot.

Try eating an apple and drinking a quart of water instead. An apple gives me tons of energy, tastes good and the water and fiber from the apple make is easy to miss those extra Kcals. Also you will be running to the bathroom more having having to pee so your gonna burn more energy. And it costs a lot less.

Shit if the worst thing I put in my body on any given day is a can of red bull than thats a pretty damn healthy day considering ill jams 8ccs of juice in my glute/week . Just saying.
In all seriousness Im good for at east 2-3 cups of coffee/day and have no intention what so ever of stopping. Good for you for making the change.

I drink one cup a day and throughout the day. I can't imagine 2-3. I guess you build a tolerance like anything else.

I just cut down to three and a pre work out. That's my bottom line. Cutting the sugar out of them is next.

I drink no energy drinks or coffee on the regular anymore. I'd say 2 red bulls a week at max. Sometimes just 2 a month. I only drink the sugar free kind when I do drink them

They certainly aren't healthy for you, however they aren't as bad as some people make them out to be. It's going to suck when you start cutting back on it though. I used to drink 1-2 Monsters a day along with ECA. I cut it all out and I felt like death for 4-5 days.

nothing wrong with a few cups of coffee or 8-10 green teas a day. actually alot of data shows its actually good for you. coffee being bad is an old stigma and research done long ago didnt factor in it was mostly smokers..

^^ just from quick look, I have seen much deeper and detailed studies.

Red bulls got a few more things in it though. I rec 1-2 cups of coffee or 2-3 cups of green tea + 1-2g taurine a day and stop the red bull IMO

I saw a study recently that said the caffeine content from coffee has a different effect to pure caffeine, and I think it concluded that it was due to everything else that's in coffee making it less effective.

Coffee and energy drinks are unnecessary chemicals IMO, in saying that.. I ingest about 10 different chemicals with my (homemade) preworkout, but each has a purpose.

I'd say if you're worried about feeling like shit, get some pure caffeine, start with your regular dose and taper it down. Then it's just down to breaking the habit of drinking the actual drink.

Christ I feel weird for having one black coffee with a teaspoon of sugar with oats as pre workout for the gym.

It's strange I can take or leave most things never get addicted to anything really

Lucky, I try something that feels good and I'm on it for the next year
