Busted!
There is an employee in my office who calls in sick regularly, including today. On my way to the subway station, I noticed her at the bus stop, knowing she works a second job. I called her second employer a few hours later and asked to speak with her, and not surprisingly, she was there.
Tomorrow should be interesting.

That's why I stay out of the corporate bullshit.
I get paid a individual commission so if someone calls in sick I just make a lot money so call away suckers.

When she called in sick, she left 2 voice mails for the manager. I was in his office when he played the messages. She said she was sick with diarrhea but wanted to book it as vacation time because she did not want to deal with occupational health. My manager, being the idiot he is, said "well looks like she booked it as vacation time." He has to approve that. He has the right to request a doctor's note but she walks all over him and he takes it.
The CFO and director want her gone and to build a case against her. I immediately emailed the director, who is on vacation until Monday, what I had just seen. I had reported to her just before she went on vacation that diarrhea girl has dictated how her time off should be recorded and the director was not happy at all. Any normal manager would not let an employee walk all over them like that, especially one who is absent regularly and does not do her work.
First thing this morning when I got in, I emailed HR to book a meeting. Met with our HR rep and gave her emails that I had sent in the past showing that I have been reporting diarrhea girl's absenteeism, as well as the email I sent to the director stating what I heard on the voice mails.
We are holding off until the director is back and the manager will not be involved with our discussion because he allowed it to happen. Diarrhea girl also texted the manager's corporate Blackberry saying she was sick, leaving a digital trail. He is probably too stupid to think to delete the text messages, but I believe they can be retrieved as it is a corporate Blackberry.
Here's hoping I killed two birds with one stone... Idiot manager and terrible employee.

Obviously she is a pain at your job, but you never know the struggle people are going through, she is working two jobs so you cant say that she is lazy or just simply doesn't want to work/.

Gawd, I hate corporate crap
Been without a job for over 4 years & I still make as much as anyone normal working on paper.
Don't get me wrong, I might go back into the corporate world someday when I'm done with my education.
But, shit like this just sucks to even hear.

No hummers occurred.
I'm very much looking forward to Monday when the director is back.
Diarrhea girl made the mistake of texting her only friend in the office that morning that she was sick, and went on a tirade yesterday morning that she took vacation time and was not sick and had no right to call her. So now her only friend, who has been working poorly and rude to other staff members lately, was working very, very hard and was super nice to everyone the last 2 work days.
The serfs fear Hoggage.

Insane....in the last month, I've had my ass at work with food poisoning, hunched over with debilitating stomach pain and cramps for 2 days while the medicine worked....just yesterday, I got the flu, and still went in, despite my superiors offering to let me take the day off. You CAN push through being sick, unless you have something damn near life threatening, you can do your job. I plugged my food poisoned ass with 15mg of Immodium and sucked it up...When you are part of a TEAM, you don't leave them hanging for minor shit, because then they have to pull your dead fu**ing weight.

Well it looks like nothing is going to happen. Why? Because my idiot manager covered for her by booking it as a vacation day at HER REQUEST.
I just got home 15 minutes ago and I`m so angry.

Hopefully it does not get turned around on you. Watch your butt and dont do ANYTHING even remotely questionable. Dont be late, dont leave early or I'm sure she will document it if she thinks it was you.
You know the real reason she didnt get in trouble dont you? Because she has a V so it's a free pass most of the time. Otherwise it might discrimination (it's reverse of course) or part of the war on women.
