    Anyone have messed up elbows?

About three years ago I was doing over head dumbbell tricep extensions and strained my ulnar never in my left elbow. This gave me a popping/clicking in my left elbow that I had to work though for about a year. Last January in the same elbow I ruptured a bursa sac. I stayed out of the gym for over a month and still had pain for another 3 months. It has gotten to the point were I can barley workout my triceps- any exercise hurts in both my elbows. In my right elbow it is also feeling like im developing "tennis elbow". Even when im not in the gym my elbows hurt just sitting on the couch and they also have muscle spasms. Does anyone have any tips on how to relieve this pain so I can lift?? Either though medication or maybe even some sort of brace or compression sleeve? Any advice would be greatly appreciated... Im only 25 and feel like im 90! HELP!!!

Buddy, I just clicked on your forum posts. The last 3 posts were for different "injuries" you're claiming to sustain. Ever think that maybe you just have hypochondria? I don't mean to knock you down, but you seem to have more aches than Carter has pills for.

And really, if your joint is hurting that bad, take some time off and give it real rest.

Yeah man I'm not doing too well... Years of hockey/ motocross and lifting have ruined me lol. Plus I never get a "real rest" because I am a mechanic so I'm always beating my body up... Just looking for some relief is all.

it sounds like you have a few things going on with the elbow. i have arthritis and occasional tendonitis. i've found that playing around with grip orientation matters a lot for relative irritation of the joint - neutral grip helps me the most. when tendonitis flares, i've found that elbow tendonitis bands work well. and finally, i'm maxed out on nsaid's (naproxen @ 3x400mg/day or ibuprofin @ 3x800mg/day), which i've been doing for about 10 years now (i'm 51).

    good luck.

I have pretty much put the motocross life behind me BG... have too many bills to pay to take those risks anymore. I was on naproxen for a while for my shoulder... I had no side affects from it... but I do get heartburn now and I have never had it before.. not sure if the long term use of it cause that or not. I was thinking about getting a couple of those compression sleeves for my elbows.... anyone know if they work or not?

Yeahbuddy naproxen and other nsaids can do a number on your stomach. I had 4 ulcers do to years of taking those things. quit taking them and take protonix for my stomach. Just had an endoscope last year and ulcers have healed up. However, with new shoulder issue and knee AGAIN I've had to start using naproxen again. But not on a daily basis.
