Yep you heard it right! you see back in the 1950's a man and his wife, the Rosenbergs, who worked on the manhatten project in Los Alamos new Mexico developing the nuclear weapons was caught passing the secrets to the soviet union. and for this crime they were put to death! Now fast forward to today and see what another couple got for the same crime under Obama rule of law in the USA. Incredible absolutely friggen incredible. So the word from the White House is go ahead rob, sell out our secrets, steal, rape and plunder this country to death and we will only give you a year for it all. Guys I can'r make this crap up! Ex-Los Alamos scientist gets 5 years in nuke spy sting

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A former Los Alamos National Laboratory scientist who pleaded guilty to trying to help Venezuela develop a nuclear weapon was sentenced Wednesday to five years in prison and three years of supervised release

Pedro Leonardo Mascheroni and his wife, Marjorie Roxby Mascheroni, pleaded guilty in 2013 to offering to help develop a nuclear weapon for Venezuela through dealings with an undercover FBI agent posing as a representative of the socialist South American country.

Pedro Mascheroni, a naturalized U.S. citizen from Argentina, faced up to 5 1/2 years in prison and 10 years of supervised release at his sentencing before a federal judge in Albuquerque. His wife received a year and a day in prison for conspiring with her husband to sell nuclear secrets.

The U.S. government is not alleging Venezuela sought U.S. secrets.

Before his indictment, Mascheroni was under investigation for about a year. The FBI had seized computers, letters, photographs, books and cellphones from the couple's Los Alamos home.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Mascheroni said he believed the U.S. government was wrongly targeting him as a spy and denied the accusations.

The scientist said he approached Venezuela after the United States rejected his theories that a hydrogen-fluoride laser could produce nuclear energy.

According to a 22-count indictment, Mascheroni told the undercover agent that he could help Venezuela develop a nuclear bomb within 10 years and that the South American country would use a secret, underground nuclear reactor to produce and enrich plutonium as well as an open, aboveground reactor to produce nuclear energy.

Mascheroni worked in the nuclear weapons design division at the Los Alamos lab from 1979 until he was laid off in 1988. His wife, a technical writer, worked there between 1981 and 2010.

He told AP that he was motivated by his belief in cleaner, less expensive and more reliable nuclear weapons and power. He began approaching other countries after his ideas were rejected by the lab and, later, congressional staffers.

Isn't executive power different from judicial? Can obama control these sentences? And times do change feller. Punishments are not harsh like they use to be. You do know at that same time you refer to homosexuals were illegal? I know you hate obama but can he even have any say in this?

Isn't this why they have that law to not allow foreign born people to be president?

you could be right, my frustration could be misplaced. but what do you suppose would happen to this same couple if they lived in china and did this to the Chinese Government? Or Russian, North Korean, Iranian,etc.....why should America be so kind to it's people who sell their very country out for a few bucks causing their nation to be vulnerable to destruction?

I agree theres no greater crime than high treason because it effects everybody.

He's the most far left and progressive president we've ever had. Now if that's a bad thing depends on what you think about that type of thinking. Unfortunately, half the country thinks this is a good thing.

The thing is though, his acts of socialism aren't true acts of socialism. They're all half-assed in a way that lines his financially elite backers' pockets. Look at requiring all Americans to have insurance. They jacked up everybody's rates..... All that money is going somewhere. It's not going towards care for the people who bought the new shitty insurance. It's going to the executives of these insurance firms.

Look at his enabling of illegals. It allows the wealthy to get cheap labour (under the table) and it allows these same elite to give services to these people (that otherwise wouldn't get it) at the expense of the tax payers. People are getting rich off all this shit and it isn't the regular Americans.

I mean Dubya and Cheyney got a lot of shit for lining their buddies' pockets, but this shit really takes the cake.

I doubt this is what Karl Marx envisioned. It's much worse. In his ideas there was nothing to define rich or poor and power was spread evenly among the people through unions.

In Barry's practice, it's just him using a socialist sounding idea and perverting it so that a few get rich at the public's expense.

This is not a rant towards anyone. I for one believe in a strong country. as most here do as well. and i also believe in peace through strength. No matter what anyone thought of Ronald Reagan, back then no one fvcked with America like they do now. IMO And what do you all think he would have done about ISIS
