Shoot yourself in the finger with a nail gun a few times and the needles wont bother you at all, lol. Seriously though, just try and keep calm, it is all in your head.

Don't worry about the jab. It's the left hook you need to worry about.

bizarrely (?!?), i look forward to it. it means i'm getting something that will help me reach my goals and it always fascinates me to feel whether or not i hit a nerve (pain or muscle) or vein.

For over 2 years i had someone else inject me, having to bring my needles filled with oil over to mates houses to get them to do it for me, then one day i couldnt get anyone so i sat with the needle at my leg for 10-15mins shaking and sweating, i swapped to a small needle 27gauge as i have lean legs and eventually i just pushed in, WTF felt nothing!. Then i swapped to a 25gauge as the oil flows smoother thru it and BAM, i do up to 2 per day sometimes and dont feel a thing, its actually easier than someone else doing it for me! haha

LB, I do construction and was a roofer, I have shot, and hammered nails into my hands and fingers, it isn't fun. Even got into a scrap with my miter saw a time or two. Damn tools always win though. Needles don't bother me, I don't do shoulders cause there are too many nerves and it gets hard to reach over and get the pin in straight without messing up. Quads I am not a fan of either, seems to be a lot of nerve endings in the skin, the pin hurts like a bugger breaking through. Glutes for me and it almost never hurts.

Ive been lucky (knock on wood) for the most part. Worse I have had is a piece of metal go through my eye, through the retina, took out the lens and lodged in the socket almost going through that. Loss about 50% of sight in right eye.
Ive worked with Metal Lathes, Mills, surface grinders for years, took wood shop in school and dad had a table saw as well as many other wood working took, I have most every air tool you can imagine as well as large nail guns, brad nail guns, stable guns and grinders, sanders, roto tools etc. You get the idea. Ive been lucky for the most part and still have all my fingers toes and one 1.5 eyes. lol
I did the quads for a long time but after almost 2 years I started hitting nerves frequently. Shoulders arent bad but like you said it gets to be a pain trying to reach around. Glutes always seem to get g2g.

Don't fear the reaper op. its just a needle. I quite enjoy it to be honest i sit on my bed and listen to johnny cash hurt and im away.
" I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything"
