    Tip for my son

    Hey Bros!
I have a question in regards to my 8 year old son who plays soccer. He is actually a very good soccer player only thing is that he is skinny.
What do you guys suggest as what to take? Is protein powder good for him? What kinds of vitamins are suggested?
What can you expect in terms of diet for a 8 year old. He likes candy stuff like that, but besides that I want something that can increase his appetite.
    Thanks in adance

at 8 years old I wouldn't give him anything to increase his appetite. You could be setting him up for a hard time later. The farthest I'd go is replacing his candy with a protein bar. Maybe a kids vitamin

Soccer players are supposed to be skinny... and he's 8 lol. It's a perfect time to teach him proper dieting.

    Thanks for the advice Bros!
It all comes down to genetics as well!
I was like that when I was younger!
And actually he looks more athletic but a bit on the skinny side.
All advice given here on point.
A few years from now he will eat lots more.
    thanks Bros

Most of the people wrote in regards to my question were very mature to give advice.
I have been a board member for years and have gotten very positive answers to all my questions.
That's how I learned a few things here and there..
You ask me why i asked this question here? First because I felt like asking and second, i never mentioned juice for my son duh... it was a simple question
    Why do YOU ask?

Honestly, because I got mixed up and somehow was convinced you were a mom with 1 post who came here and was asking this question. In which case I would have been kinda confused as to how she decided on this place....its been a long day

We recently found a new milk at the grocery store under the brand FairLife. Has about double the protein of normal milk and helps us get a little additional into the kids diet. Mine won't eat either, so I definitely understand that struggle. It's hard to get calories in them without giving in to high calorie fast and junk food.

BigPimpin, at 8 years old, the only thing you should be feeding him is good healthy food. Junk food is fine for a treat, but you need to be building good habits for him. And soccer players aren't exactly jacked anyways.

Honestly, being nervous about a skinny kid make zero sense. Unless the child do not have access to the food they will eat when hungry because I can assure you that there is no chance of starvation unless there is a medical problem. My daughter seems to be in a snake phase, she eats crazy about once per week and then she puts down almost 300g of chicken breast plus ice cream for dessert and after that eat some Mangos. This is really a non-issue all in your head.

I agree w/just informing him of healthy eating along with a healthy lifestyle(I'm sure he sees you as his idol)... So I think once he turns 12(ish) push-ups/sit-ups/Pull-ups will do wonders... Then as he turns into a teenager you can start implementing some weight training which I'm sure you'd love to do . Best of luck BP76

Yes he does think That after GOD I am his idol. Not to confuse anyone here that I push him to do things.
I let him choose so that he can mature naturally. He and my daughters are stable because they know life at home is at Peace.
And so it is for sure! That keeps them mentally stable.
If they mess up I talk to them that these situations are normal in life . And they understand!
I will take things at a time help them to be happy! That is what matters most the rest will come naturally.
God and life is good no matter what the situation may be
