What do you all think about this De'Andre Johnson business?
Video shows FSU QB De’Andre Johnson punching a woman in the face | www.wftv.com
I was surprised that many seemed to condone his actions (i.e. "try to fight a man, get punched like a man", etc).

He should have never put his hands on her in the first place. He was grabbing her arm, strong arming her. Yes she tried to hit him but he had her in his grasp trying to manhandle her first.
He is in the wrong and should be punished. I feel she had a right to try to strike him so he would release her from his grasp. The point is he placed his hands on her first from what I am seeing and that in and of itself is wrong. What a ***** he couldn't even drop a woman.
Those are my initial thoughts.

I think it is still wrong to hit a woman no matter what. He could have just grabbed her and held her until someone got her/them out of there. Bad move on both of their parts.
More and more of society wants everyone to be equal in every which way possible, which I think is wrong. Everyone is not equal, sorry. A coworker mentioned earlier how someone lost his/her job at reddit because of calling someone a fat ass! This world, well mainly America, is being Wussified every moment because people care about what others think about them. Tough shit!
I live my life by the golden rule. Do on to others as you want others to treat you.

If that's how strong FSU QB's arms are, they have bigger problems.

I'm liking the responses so far!
Sure, she technically threw the first (pathetic) punch at him. But him hitting her back isn't "self-defense" like half the people out there are claiming, but punishment. He is twice her size and could easily have just backed off or kept her at arm's length (even after he instigated the event by pushing up on her).
So hitting her was done purely out of spite for having the audacity to confront him about being a douche. It's not like she would have chased him across the bar and beaten him to a pulp had he not slugged her.
Also, he had her cornered and was holding on to her, so he really didn't give her many options (besides begging for mercy). She even held her left arm against him defensively and raised her knee in the same manner. Even the first time she raised her fist was a defensive warning, begging him to step back. Nobody holds their first cocked back if they're really looking to assault someone.Last edited by Bonaparte; 07-09-2015 at 02:39 PM.

I agree it's a wrong and he's a little cvnt but what bothers me the most about these stories is how much press they get and how blown up it gets. You get everyone throwing their opinions in and it's well know cause he's a future start or for example Ray Rice's case a star. But yet you get joe shmo down the street beating this piss outta his kids and wife and no one gives a sht about them.
It does no good blowing these situations up because of who the person is or what fame they have.

Well we can't exactly discuss Billy Bob's treatment of his girlfriend in the trailer park because we don't have any info on it. We discuss these isolated famous cases in part because they are representative of all the anonymous cases that we can't discuss (i.e. what we think as a society of Johnson punching a woman in the face reflects our attitudes on opposite-gender violence as a whole and helps bring public awareness to it).
It also makes a public example of them, so that others will think twice before doing something similar.
If we were all to turn a blind eye to it and dismiss it as "she shouldn't have hit him first", then that sends the message to every guy out there that hitting a woman is ok if they "started it".
And you can't expect people to not jump all over this, as FSU's last QB was raping err'body and stealing crab legs from grocery stores (among other things). Isolated incidents are one thing, but this has become a disturbing pattern.
Also: **** the 'Noles.
I attended a (better) rival school, so all this horrible FSU publicity really cracks me upLast edited by Bonaparte; 07-09-2015 at 04:47 PM.

I am glad I am older and no longer spend time in bars. I probably would have gotten into a little trouble if I were younger and there that night; obviously for punching that guy in the face.

You could tell she turned around and said something. Pretty sure he was crowding her and who knows what her tone of voice was, I'm sure it was instigating. He could have walked away. I've been there before, and walked away. That's very easy to do.
I've also been there before where I attempted to walk away and the broad's boyfriend or whatever started to mouth off. That wasn't very easy to walk away from.~ PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR SOURCE CHECKS ~
