Did anyone catch this documentary on HBO? I'm not a big follower of documentaries however, this one did catch my eye. It discusses individuals who are sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. In some cases the individuals are 14 years old at the time of sentencing so there is a possibility that with modern medicine, the could spend 70 years in jail before dying. It was an interesting program to say the least, I can't say I have an opinion as I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to loose a loved one to a violent crime. However, when discussing the three strikes law that California currently practices, one can't help to wonder if it is right? I guess I just found it fascinating how these guy's deal with living in prison knowing they will die there, and how they function and get by. Again, the pain they caused may in fact be worthy of their sentence, but to look at it subjectively and without bias makes one wonder? I am indifferent but still a good documentary.
