Toe Tag Parole
Did anyone catch this documentary on HBO? I'm not a big follower of documentaries however, this one did catch my eye. It discusses individuals who are sentenced to life without the possibility of parole. In some cases the individuals are 14 years old at the time of sentencing so there is a possibility that with modern medicine, the could spend 70 years in jail before dying. It was an interesting program to say the least, I can't say I have an opinion as I can't begin to imagine what it would be like to loose a loved one to a violent crime. However, when discussing the three strikes law that California currently practices, one can't help to wonder if it is right? I guess I just found it fascinating how these guy's deal with living in prison knowing they will die there, and how they function and get by. Again, the pain they caused may in fact be worthy of their sentence, but to look at it subjectively and without bias makes one wonder? I am indifferent but still a good documentary.

I don't feel sorry for them..... We all know the consequence prior to the crime. They think they can get away with it..... Take their chance..... And now they can live with it. If I was a family member of a victim I would hope they spend every day crying and suffering behind bars.

I could not imagine what it would be like for a person to sit in a court room trial for the death of their son, daughter, mother, father, brother, sister and observe crime scene photo's, autopsy photo's and so on. They call life without parole "the new death penalty". I guess I just wonder which is better or if there is a difference? Is there more satisfaction for victim's families? Life vs. death?

I will just leave this here.
Don't know and I hope I or anyone here does not ever have to know if there is long term satisfaction in wishing the offender spent every day suffering.

Theres some people out there that prefer being inside. I saw a show about it once. They don't have to worry about working, food, bills etc its crazy to think they would rather be locked up.

I would rather them be executed tbh.... Let em sit on death row for 15 years knowing they're going to die.
If it was up to me I'd tell them they're going to be freed in 30 days. On day 30 I'd wheel them to their execution room and let em sit there for 20 hours
I have no compassion for those who don't value life
