Hi. I had my first bulging disc on sciatic nerve. Thursday started during day and by evening could not move without severe acrobatics and pain. Friday morning saw chiropractor. Saturday morning woke up and no longer laying on the nerve. Another adjustment. The only residual pain from muscle spasm.

No prednisone. No X-rays. No MRI. There's a place for chiropractic care.

    Hope you feel better!

Thanks! I'm still considering the chiropractic route, it's just been difficult to get things scheduled around my job. I know a good one though. I lost like 2.5 inches on my arm (all tricep) since this started. I'm pretty bummed about that. Hoping it comes back

It was so bad for me that I had to pick up my left leg and place it in the car. Hanging upside down fixed my life.
Just DON'T try doing an inverted situp and rupture more disks lime I did.

Now there is s difference between herniated and ruptured. If your doctor said 50/50 chance of getting better it's herniated. A rupture can't heal because pieces of it are actually broken off the little spongy pad like mine did.

It still could get better to a point. Mine there was no going back. Surgery was the only answer or I would be paralyzed as I was 80% immediately when it ruptured L5/S1. When I herniated L3/L4 30years earlier it mostly healed over time and only hurt bad a few weeks. It was night and day compared to my rupture.

Damn dude, you have been down the bad road haven't you? Not to celebrate in your injury, but it is nice to see someone who obviously hasn't let it hold them back...

Anyway... supposing the disc is a jelly doughnut, some of the jelly has come out. But I believe the doughnut itself (besides being a little flat) is still in good order. He told me there was really not much risk of making it worse unless I get all doped up and try to do something really stupid. Said the pain should really keep me from doing any more damage to it as long as I pay attention to it. Which is good considering my job is basically to lift heavy things in an akward way lol.

Honestly, my main concern now is bringing back the lost muscle
