We have had a few "cross fit types" come into our gym. Our gym offers a cross fit class. Needless to say they don't stay. The meat head gym I workout at does more circuit training and teaches proper technique. . . classes offered now only 2 times a month. They are taped for our enjoyment.

I saw someone "kipping" on the pull up bar the other day and he was so proud of himself.

This fad will end soon just like every other fad. Have some faith guys.

If they weren't in the way or distracting, I really wouldn't have a problem with those fvcks. I bet surgeons and physicians love those guys.

Crossfit the worst thing to happen to the fitness industry? No way. 5-minute abs and the thought that fitness and rock hard abs can come in just 5-minutes with their device.

I'm not a fan of CF by any means but they do get people up and working out and many "boxes" at least get people thinking about nutrition even if it's whacky. Now I hate those DB's that think CF is the only real way to get fit.

Where I come from Kipping means napping. Doing that on a pull up bar would actually be quite impressive.

the premise of high intensity intervals and crossfit is great, especially when training for sports that involve 3 minute rounds and short shifts. But the "crossfit types" ruin it. The self indulgent, higher than though people who sacrifice technique and safety to get higher numbers. Cross fit carries with it this whole culture of personality amongst its members, and atleast where im from, monthly dues are usually around $150-$200 a month for licensed crossfit gyms

Yes. And if you're a woman, you also have to dress like a lesbian and shave the side of your head.

But seriously, crossfit(ers?) are like vegans: they wouldn't be a problem if they would just shut the **** up about it.

Ahhhh i cant stand vegans. The whole reason of mass produced animals is for human consumption. If no one ate meat. There would be a lot less animals in the world.

I hate vegans too. But they're the ones missing out. Because I wouldn't want to live in a world without steak, pork chops, brisket, lamb, venison jerky, etc.

Besides, if you look at most of those dipshit's bodies, they don't look that great.

Do you really need steroids if all you're doing is using momentum to cheat at exercising?

Yea they def do. If you watch some of the competitions there is no chance they are natural. The pros in cross fit are great ****ing athletes. The school teacher with the pot belly doing power cleans looks like a fool and there is more of them then athletes.

Yeah, but none of the crossfit pros train for their crossfit competitions by doing crossfit.

    How is that possible lol

They arent going to train cross fit for a cross fit competition? I am sure they do other added exercises but why would you practice something on a regular basis that will not be apart of the competition. That makes no sense.

They all use traditional methods for training. If they practiced crossfit, they would actually lose strength and endurance. How much "work" is involved in kipping a pullup?

I don't really know for fact that they don't use crossfit to train for their competitions, but I've heard from several reasonably credible sources that they don't.
