It's designed to attack, just not in the physical sense. It's a program designed to help you feel ashamed of being born a whitey and for all the privileges afforded to you by being born in that skin, then you can become a white apologist.

Fvcking stupid. I had nothing given to me and have worked dirty sucking jobs and made my way up. I have bathing against most of those who were born into money black or white either. Maybe I should? Some people just like to bitch and blame everyone else instead of working for something.

I've said it and will continue to repeat myself; the only color that has any "privilege" in this country is the color green. If you have enough of that color you can do and buy whatever, and whomever, you want almost.

Yeah I am getting sick of people bashing the Oscars due to there being no black nominees, however if you look at the NAACP Awards, BET Awards you will find zero white nominations. Do we complain, fvck no.

ha, he does doesnt he and his voice fits his looks unlike many others. I wondered what he looked like after hearing him for a while. I didnt think I would like him when I first heard him but he grows on you quickly even though I dont agree with everything he says but like I say, I dont need to agree with someone 100% to like them.

BTW that's one of my top 10 favorite movies, EuroTrip.

Likewise, I was born into an upper-middleclass family, however my family made me earn every damn thing I got. I was never given anything but a roof over my head and 3 meals per day. When I was 15, I worked in a Japanese restaurant washing dishes to pay for the extra shlt I wanted in life at that time. I like most of you have worked effortlessly to get to where I am today and I continue to work harder to get to where I want to be.

People used to tell me I was a privileged kid after attending two universities and obtaining two degrees, however my hard work paid for that shlt. Def was not a damn handout form anyone. Now I am back in school to make more gains in life and past sacrifices (OIF) is paying for that.

People will always say to those who seem successful that its white privilege, or you had a great life, or you had a rich mommy and daddy and the reality is this is far from the truth. If you peel back our layers our hard work and determination to not be a bum got us where we are today and that same drive will carry us to the next level.

I'm sick of people with their hand out, especially those who have no excuse not to be somebody. Damn able bodied men and women sitting at home collecting welfare payments that our sweat, stress and hard-work is paying for. I do understand there are circumstances where people need assistance, some temporary and some permanent. But welfare should not be a free ride and a ticket to give up on dreams.

I saw a news article where a woman has 7 kids with 6 different men and she was complaining that no one was helping her take care of her kids and demanded the government pay her for her kids. If she has the mentality to say this, then she was taught this from someone. When will it end?

I personally believe the welfare system is designed to keep a certain class of people (Sorry to categorize people; its for the purposes of my statement) at the poverty level with their hand out. Seems the only logical explanation for this is to keep people dependent on the government for control purposes. (Just my opinion)

White Privilege does not exist, nor does any other race have a privilege in this world. Some of you say money is the only privileged factor however I believe its not only money. Its also about the character of the individual and that persons aptitude for success. Who you know is also a dependent variable in some cases.

Bottom line is if you work hard, one day you will succeed.

The first job brings back memories for me as well. Washing dishes in a Chinese restaurant, occasionally clearing off tables. A good night would be if one of the waitresses made the wrong drinks for an order and would let me have it for after work.
Hard to believe that was 36 years ago.
There are 3 loves in my life: my wife, my English mastiffs, and my weightlifting....Man, my wife gets really pissed when I get the 3 confused...

Not counting the many hours I spent during the summer from age about 10 on picking blue berries and selling them door to door for $5 a gallon my 1st real paying job was washing dishes at a 31 scoops ice-cream at 15 1/2. That was better than the shuveling gravel job I was paid much less and under the table because I was too young to get a paycheck.

2nd job was washing dishes in a big Mexican Restaurant working the evening/night shift until 11pm or later.

I moved all the way up to Cutting word for about 2 years then doing drywall, packing, stacking scrapping, patching and spraying. Yup I was privileged and have the scars on my lower back from 2 surgeries to prove it.

Yeah the more you think about it the more you just want to smack the sh*t out of those crying white privilege.

I hear you on that, Lovbyts. My first summertime job as a kid involved working in my grandfather's garden picking tomatoes, beans, cukes, hoeing potatoes from 5 a.m. until 8 a.m. (no pay for that one,LOL). From 8 a.m. until ~ 4:00 I worked in my uncle's cabinet shop sweeping the floor, puttying and sanding nail holes, routing patterns in cabinet door faces, striking off the marks for hinges, etc. No real pay there either, but I got all of the free Cokes I wanted (naturally I drank myself sick a few times). However, if he was going out to set cabinets, I got to go back to the garden and work some more.
He still had the Coke machine in 1989 when one of my other uncles has passed and I came home on leave and drove back up to NC to be a pallbearer. LOL, I remember the machine well. Cokes in the glass bottle were still a dime and the top 2 rows were still his Miller beers.
Kind of puts things in perspective when you look back and reflect, doesn't it?

That brings back memories also. Picking strawberries in the hot sun for hours, tomatoes, apples, cherries, pears and digging potatoes.

I never did much wood work, only a little but I sure got to straighten a LOT of nails. Yeah I bet Pete have a hard time believing we didn't throw bent nails away. I must have straightened 100s if not more. I remember having black thumbnails more than once. LoL

Damn you got free coke? Haha only thing I got was after 3 years of saving my blueberry money and having almost enough for a used CR 125 my dad came home with a POS Suzuki 120 Enduro 1960s 500 lb brick he made me pay for. I never forgave him. LoL

The only thing good about it was I learned a lot of mechanics because it always broke down. Usually 5 miles up the power lines road so I had to walk it home.

Besides filling sand bags, stone(crush, clean, etc) brick & blocks stacking on pallets and shrink wrapping them, that was all for 7$ an hr lol... My first real paycheck also came with washing dishes and busing - seems like there's always places looking for dishwashers etc when just starting out

I delivered newspapers. Woke up at 3am on a school day. Had them delivered by 5am and school at 8am. Sports after school and then after graduating I started helping my father with his lawn business. I cut grass for 10 years..... To this day I hate cutting grass with a passion. I'd rather pay someone now.

I did that for a few years in my early teens too. We had a bagging lawnmower but my mom wouldn't let me use the bag, she said it didn't work as good so I had to rake it. No she would not even let me do both. That sucker and some of the neighbors had big yards.

Lol she instilled that work ethic in you..... My old man had me use the small mower wherever his 36" and 48" didn't fit. Then I'd weed whack and sometimes use the blower if he wasn't finished cutting.

15 lawns on Saturday, 15 lawns on Sunday, and about 5 each day during the week.

I hated my life lol and I got paid crap. Sometimes he'd hire his coworker to help and he'd pay him 3x what he paid me lol

This is where I draw the line. My sleep at that time was far more important than a paycheck. Cudos to you for being able to maintain a paper route. I know people who do it out of necessity and its tough on them.

I also once worked for a commercial landscaping company. I managed to work a solid 4 hours of my first day on the job before I hyper-extended my right knee trying to kick a stray dog. Long story short, I should have used the shovel that was in my hand at the time.

Manual labor is ok IMO, and I believe everyone needs to have at least one manual labor job in their lifetime. My landscaping career lasted a solid month. (Not being a smartass or racist, but I just couldn't keep up with the illegal employees and I was in incredible shape.)

My first job was working on my uncle's crab boat at 12 years old... The day started at 4 am and it was hot and not to mention getting bit by crabs all day sucked. My dad had really bad manual labor jobs lined up for me every summer in the hopes I would chose to learn a trade or go to college and make something of my self. I think a lot of today's problems stem from parents not setting a good example for kids and then letting their kids be lazy and learn to rely on the government To provide things they are more than capable of providing for themselves. They think they are too "above" washing dishes or digging ditches as they choose to be unproductive and rely on a handout. Me and most other ppl I know that are successful in life learned the value of a hard earned dollar through bad "first jobs" early in life and that lays the foundation to have a productive life!

Crabbing is for sure a tough job and you cant exactly stop to take a break once you start pulling up the crab pots. How big was his boat? Did you have a crew or just a couple of you? That's a dangerous job also if you are one who goes out quite a ways.

I thought about going to Alaska for a few years out of school because it can be good money if you do it right but Damn wouldn't you now a girl got in the way. lol

    Do you still like/eat crab?

Im not trying to take anything away from DEP30 but I am sure it was Blue Crab baskets and not the major crab fishing seen on Deadliest catch since he mentioned it was hot. Nonetheless this is also a very demanding and labor intensive job as I took it up as a hobby when I was younger and it was hard work.

I respect anyone and everyone who has had a hard day of manual labor and doesn't complain about it. Too many people are being raised these days thinking they deserve nothing less than a cushy office job.

Manual labour/farming is far better then sitting behind a desk all day and pays better more often then not. Especially in this day and age with alot of lazy cvnts around. Regardless of what you do to earn Its what you do with your money that matters. Don't squander it make it work for you. Don't become a slave to someone else. For every dollar you earn make it into 5$ then 10$ then 15$ etc etc etc

As for white privilege it probably does exist to some degree. Society goes with what it knows. People use Statistics/reason For everything. I picked my accountant because he is a certain ethnic/religious group that has a good reputation for accounting. He may not of been the best but because of his last name im preordained to think he is the best man for my accounting needs. Thats just one example of one person. Im sure most people make subconscious decisions.
