Your beginner mistakes
I wanted to see if this thread would go anywhere.
What was your noobie mistakes?
Mine was otc supplements instead of FOOD. I though if I kept slamming protien shakes and taking "Testosterone " otc I would get massive! Then the dreaded pizza and taco bell bulk of 2012.Last edited by 73rr; 03-03-2016 at 04:07 PM.

Pinning Sust @ 500mg /wk cause that's what my buddy told me was good.
No knowledge or mention at all of things called AIs, PCTs, HCG , or even that is was supposed to be cycled lol.
But I'll have to say I was very dedicated to diet & training at the time. Weighing my foods and counting absolutely everything. Only thing I didn't know about was Macro breakdown and what worked best for me but that's a whole other side of it. I hit my calories with clean food and that was good enough for me at the time.

To much juice in the beginning. Now my body doesn't allow me to run anything.

My cycles were pretty decent with PCT
but no AI or HCG or a good base to build on, or a good diet.
The forum i was a member on back in 2008 was no where near like this one.

Never trying hgh
-
Basically echo what RP said -
My buddy swore he knew it all - however I did start my research b4 my first pin - we had no AI HCG OR a pct outlined - I joined this forum as every ? I asked brought me here so I joined and in a little over 2 yrs or less I've learned more here than in any classroom or off anyone -
Always know what your doing - I didn't run hCG for the first 5-6wks - very well couldve added to my problems(of hypogonadism)
Not enough food(still struggle) but I'll get down now
Live and learn - except it's much easier now

1) Not getting blood work before ever running AAS... I have low T now but I have a feeling ive had it beofre ever touching AAS... no way to tell now though.
2) Running a cycle at 21... dbol only none the less, with no HCG , no AI, and a crappy PCT.
3) Trying to "bulk" on fast food and other crappy foods because I thought I "needed the calories"... I ended up just getting fat.
4) Not being strict on my diet until recently... never weighed or measured anything, always eating out.

Over eating and drinking for me in the years gone by I was 240lbs with highish bf shown pics to fellow lifters who say I wasn't too bad but I look back on em with disgust.
And not learning about HIT training years ago if I knew what I know now I'd be a good as Nach or others. Thankfully I found here before I ran anything and have only done 3 cycles the last being nearly 18 months ago.

Buddy was given 10ml deca and 10ml sust.
At first he wanted to give me just the deca and he take sust. He was given it by a firefighter Co worker who he would give his life for...so we trusted him.
Friend backed out. Gave both to me.
Told me to pin 1ml of sust on tuesday. And 1ml deca Wednesday.
So I did just that...didn't even know how to work a pin...first one I never screw the pin down and shot everything on the ceiling as I was trying to let air out.
Pinned sust and couldn't walk or sit for days. Kept asking questions to the guy until he got annoyed and told me about this site.
Came here and people helped greatly and steered me right.
Had no pct
..so rushed ordered from old sponsored.....wasn't around to sign. Ended up doing pct about 6 or 7 eekks after.
I just got divorced before this. ..move in with a friend...was in a bad place would have done anything.
All worked out for the best though

Anavar only cycle. Dumbest shit I ever did!

Running superdrol for like 3 months straight....
-
I ask myself about 'if' I had only learned how my body really reacted to HIT training and knowing the importance of nutrition coupled w/training... Much earlier than 30ish lol
Well at least I found this forum and the members(& staff) here - it's totally transformed my mind and body....
Lifting smarter when younger(knowing the importance of a warm up set) instead of going in after a Labral surgery and trying to hit my PR of 320 in HS... I got it but at the cost of my shoulder popping back out a place - ego lifting pfft!

Yeh man we've all done things we regret when it comes to lifting etc it is very annoying when you think back. Thankfully I always paced myself and avoided a good few injuries in my time have a slight rotor cuff pain and knee pain the odd time but nothing major.
I have been reading arnies encyclepedia there and he really does set out good beginners training and he mentions about a lot of heavy lifting to build your thick muscular look with forced reps negs etc which is always good to have a read through again

That's probably the biggest mistake people make in this lifestyle is improper lifting resulting in injury and not putting enough focus on there nutrition

Diet!

03-04-2016, 09:01 PM #33
haha, this is a good thread 73rr.
I made the mistake as a teenager of believing that if I did the exercises the way there were recommended in the magazines, I would look like the guys in the magazines, without the need of steroids , since those weren't mentioned. Sheesh!
Also, probably the thing that has held me back the most over the years, is injuries from stupid mistakes in the gym with bad form. Double sheesh!

Switch compunds from week to week, listen to the wrong people (first one was a 2nd place competative bodybuilder in Scandinavia, still bad advice), bad diet, jumped on and off on feels, bunk, alcohol, well you name it!!
The typical beginner "damn that dude has a great body" - If I take steroids I get that in a week LOL

I'll hop on the too much gear at a young age wagon. In my days we were all very uneducated and believed anyone and everyone at the gym. No excuses today!
