Avocado seed

So wasn't sure if wanted to post this in diet or lounge. So might do both but check this video out....never even knew this was possible.

My fiancés father puts it in a gallon of water and let's it steep like tea for days and then drinks it.

Ok I just asked her..... He cooks it to get the outer shell off. She says he cuts em up too to make the tea.

I have heard that the avocado seed contains additional nutrients is this true?
The California Avocado Commission does not recommend consumption of the “pit” or seed of an avocado. The seed of an avocado contains elements that are not intended for human consumption.

After Googling around for about 20-minutes I can not find a trustable source with the Macro and Micronutrients in that seed. The best link I find is the one I posted where the growers tell us not to eat it. Considering these guys tend to try to make money out of everything I am inclined to believe them.
