**Navy SEALs**
I've recently been watching some documentaries on the SEALs and also some films and I've got to say they are seriously one hell of a unit. With the recent killing of the top Islamic State leader by the Special Forces and what these guys are capable of doing I've got to give full credit to these guys.
I do admire the SAS but with everything I've been watching and know I really think the Americans have the best Special Forces on the planet. The planning, execution and overall capabilities of this division is extremely elite.

Thx for posting this... Great convo starter!
SEAL team 6 is the most diverse unit we have(underwater demolition etc) they all have a specialty! And the thing is no such thing as just a SEAL... They execute fast, acting on instict, and pulling together as a 'unit'!!
I've had the pleasure of talking with one of the first 'frogman'(sea-bees)... he was behind the lines or fought in WWII/Vietnam/Korean war (where many were POW-MIA including a few fam members)! He was a bad MFer!!! Couldn't imagine what they can't say lol
I will say I believe the U.S. has the best Special Forces... But the SAS, and Mousad are pretty damn nasty too! The Masoud are nuts lol / but then again anyone in these units are!Last edited by NACH3; 03-26-2016 at 06:30 AM.

The maddest thing is though the Irish Rangers win all the international special forces competitions they won either this or last years one.
I have a few friends in the military over here and they were telling me these guys in the ranger team would be kid napped randomly and thrown into the wilds of the countryside and left to fend for themselves its mad.
They go for a certain person for all these special forces jobs.
Theres a good few books to read Marcus from ex seals etc on the market friend has read them will post up some of the names for you.

They are called special forces because they specialise in different aspects of warfare . To say one sf is superior to another is false because they specialise in different things. They are all the top 1% mentally and physically of their respected militaries. But none is number 1.
Example norway(cant think of what they are called) is known for its arctic capabilities.
The british sas is known for its tactical assault role
British,nz, aus sas are known for there long range foot recognisance and insertions which go back to their time in north africa during ww2 as the long range desert group.
The usa army sf is without a doubt the best at foreign internal defence. That is their bread butter.
The russians are just crazy cvnts
The us navy seals are good at what they train for but imagine if you needed to entrench in open terrain and defend against a frontal infantry assault with armour support. Who do you think would be more suited to that scenario? Well the answer could only be a army sf not the seals. Because MOST armies sf come from the infantry and this is what they would have trained for during their time in a infantry unit. where i would assume this its not a scenario someone from the navy would be to familiar with(unless maybe you where from the sbs and had spent time in the RM)
The americans have the funding that no other unit on the planet could even dream off.

One bloke Behind the lines in ww1,ww2,korea and vietnam? I highly doubt it. Seeing as the usa entered ww1 in 1917 he would of at least been born no later then 1900(but i doubt it) making him 17. And making him a minimum of 65-75 years old during 1965-1975 at the time of vietnam. not to mention ww1 was not a frogmans war. Maybe on some sort of non combatant role but a 70 year old man is not combat effective.
Mossad is a intelligence agency not a military sf unit.

Indeed it was! It's amazing how they can get to you from anywhere and everywhere! Each Team/Unit will have a spotter/sniper(although all are capable of hitting someone-from 1000yrds - or more from the number one sniper! Carlos ? Was the guy with the longest range shot through the scope(2000+ yards away - being eaten alive in the jungle by the insects and ants) had welts all over his body(layer there for like 2wks for that shot! Amazing!

The opening scene to that movie tells it all! Absolutely gives me chills and goosebumps everytime I've seen that movie!
Ever see 'The Hurtlocker'?! Pan other academy award winning movie(talked to a bomb squad military agent and he said it was just like that with lots more fire everywhere!

Our SAS and SBS pretty much cover everything else off. I've not really seen much of what the seals do. I'd say though I don't think there's anything they could do, that SAS/SBS couldn't.
There are special force teams out there that would probably dominate the UK in certain conditions and terrain.
It's hard to compare them. One job is not like another.

My friend of a friend is a navy seal. One of the nicest guys u will ever meet.
It's crazy how nice these guys are. There layed back, they will have a beer with u. They don't walk around with there chest out showing off what they are!
I see him every now and then. always has some cool stories about training. He won't bring any of it up unless u ask though. (I assume just because he doesn't brag about his carrier )
