Boneless, Skinless groundbeef can be bought at your local florist for around 1,000 a pound due to its rarity.

I had to also ???? Boneless skinless? I cant remember the last time I had beef with the skin.

I'm guessing English is not his 1st language.

There is a big difference between Ground beef and good lean boneless steak. Ground beef it depends on the fat content, 15% - 30% $4 a pound to $8 a pound and of course it depends on where you live so the price varies a lot.

A decent steak can run anywhere from $10 a pound to $20 a pound depending on the cut.

In SC, 90/10 ground beef is ~ $3.29/lb here if you buy a 10lb. chub. Flank steak varies from $4.99/lb. up to $8.99/lb. depending on the quantity you purchase and if if you trim off the excess fat or if the butcher does it and packages it in small amounts.

Edit: As Lovbyts posted, a nicer cut of steak like porterhouse, filet mignon, or bone-in ribeye runs anywhere from $9.99-$19.99.

Get to know a butcher and be a regular. I can get ground beef 96/4 for 2.50 to 3, market changes. At Walmart here it fluctuates between 5.50 and 6.50. Now with the skin, I haven't tried that, you must be talking about something else unless your part wolf.

I buy home grown beef from a local rancher, the 1/4 beef I bought cost $4.10 a pound after processing.
That includes all the steaks, roast and ground beef.

For groundbeef 90% lean, it's usually well over $5 per LB out here.

I guess that's a flash in the pan compared to what Marcus said they pay for food out in the UK, but I think it's outrageous. Regardless, you really wouldn't like 100% lean ground beef even if you could find it. The fat gives the meat flavour and texture.

If you want better control of your ground meats fat content and overall quality, you could just buy a meat grinder yourself. Here's a cheap good one:

Amazon.com: Norpro Meat Grinder, Mincer, and Pasta Maker: Kitchen & Dining

It's hand-cranked, but grinding meat for one person shouldn't be THAT big of a deal. And it's easy to clean too!

Fvcking win! Was looking for one of these..... I'm going to start buying whole chickens at .99/lb and grind the meat myself.

If you end up grinding a lot of meats, you might want to eventually get a motorized one. But you really got to look in to the reviews about them. The shitty ones will jam a lot, the motors will either be under-powered for some cuts (or burnout quickly) and can be really hard to safely clean (sanitation is the most important factor in a grinder).

The attachment for the kitchen-aid is about $50 I think. Not too bad

My grandma took off her pointer finger in one of these way back in the day.

Still remember getting yelled at by her and her using her middle finger and pointing at us when we were in trouble.

My dad has one of those commercial grinders. He does all his own sausages and ground meat

I process all of my own wild game if you are going to buy a grinder spend the money on a good one the cheap ones are very slow and low on power of course this does depend on how much you are going to grind.
