    Am I being singled out from cable company?

    I allegedly download the occasional movie for personnel entertainment. My wife received a recorded ph call from our internet provider saying some thing about illegal downloads. K so Hillary can commit felonies and walk around with no repercussions and I'm being threatened for watching a movie?
    Question 1: do you allegedly download the occasional movie?
    Question 2 have you received a similar call or notification?

    Screw them. Everyone does. To be right honest I don't understand how youtube can legally exist. Piracy is one of those things they can't punish in mild cases because we would all be in jail. Now if you are downloading and selling copies...

    Everyone I know of has received these communications in the form of either a letter or a pre-recorded phone call at some point.

    Just beacuse everyone does its dont make it right.They can have you arrested and its a felony.J walking is against the law but everyone does it.Then someone gets a ticket and wonders why.The film and music industry has loss millions of dollars do to this and and actors and singers are pissed.So in the end you broke the law and it doesn't matter wat others did.Only time will tell bro good luck and quit recording

    No I have never done it because it is illegal.
    It makes all of you scumbags that are guilty of this the lowest form of fungus on earth and you should rot in a jail for the rest of your miserable lives for committing a horrific crime like that.

    While technically it's illegal to download and host copyrighted media there's no laws against streaming.

    Imo you should stick it to the man by switching to kodi.

    Even when I worked for the cable Co. I use to get them. . . The other guys who still work there get them regularly.


    This is all not to say you will not be singled out & made an example of


    Met a guy, regular Ol' dude who looked like the comic book guy from the simpsons - got hit for 30k, after over a year in court he got it knocked down to 10-12k. . . He was just downloading random movies.

    I've only ever heard of this happening to people that would download, burn to DVD/Blu-Ray and then flip it for profit.
    Which in that sense they shouldn't be pissed when they get caught IMO.

    That's the impression I was under. I was thinking how could they have the resources to go after ppl in their homes. Maybe its more profitable to go after the small working joe and try to crucify him for such a thing while everyone in politics robs the public, skates taxes and commit atrocity on a daily basis.

    I was downloading POV Jugg F**kers #5 from Pirate Bay and my browser had a warning from the ISP that the connection would be cut off if I continued. I thought it sucked because I never had a problem. I guess on that specific download the protection was not stripped off like the others were.

    Well im happy with the "married with children boxset" i bought on dvd. When i watch that im going to buy the prison break dvd and the 3rd rock from the sun dvd. I never saw the ending.

    Cutting the cable was the best solution I have ever come to. Buy a Firestick, install Kodi, some great app like https://www.firesticktricks.com/gene...born-kodi.html and forget about monthly payments. Pay once - get freedom forever. For anonymity you can also use VPN and be absolutely independant TV user.
