    Blood pressure help

Hi guys Currently 18/male been doing keto for over a month and synepherine/caffeine/green tea stack.

Am down from 89kg to 79.5kg in a month of keto.

Anyway woke up this morning feeling death. Checked my blood pressure...

    70 sys
    35 dia
    113 heart rate.

Can someone offer some perspective on why this perhaps is happening? I have no medical conditions and am a healthy young man. Aside from the fact that most of the males on my father's side have had heart attacks I hope I do not have a genetic heart condition.

    Many thanks gentlemen

I assume you mean 170/35 BP. If you are reading 70/35 I'd go to the ER.

If it's high (170/135) I can tell you how to get it under control. Take five stalks of celery and put them in a blender with enough water to blend them into a whole juice. Drink it. It's actually refreshing and easy to drink. Your BP should be under control inside a day as well as BP. You'll feel better inside of a few hours.

Call your doctore right away. Quit the stack. Those numbers are very critical. In the meantime. Follow the selleritip. Reduce sodium and eat veggies only. Seriously. The numbers are bad.

Nah I meant the numbers I posted. First thing this morning. Woke up very dazed. Do you think it's more likely to be the stack or keto. I have been monitoring all day and it has stabilised but if it continues tomorrow I'll have to check myself in

This is what I have been consistently for the last few hours. Thanks guys for your input but there was something seriously wrong this morning... I will need to find out why it happened. At those levels it looked like I was in the range for having a stroke...

Nigthmare perhaps. Keto is ok. It could be the epehdrinstack.
Remember. When u wake up your heartbeat should be below 60.
And remember. Many of those homekits are very inaccurate though.
Bur heart beat at rest is easy to monitor with the fingers.

It could have been postural hypotension as well. Did you stand up quickly before taking it?

Is that not just for high blood pressure?

70/35 seems like a misread. Did you measure more than once?
And if it was a wrist cuff BP monitor, you must hold your hand at level with your heart, holding it elevated gives too low BP, while lower gives too high BP.

That said, you had pretty low BP to begin with, and a 70/35 read is possible and still be conscious.
(Less than 70 sys is considered too low to remain conscious)

You really need to check this with a doc.
    Do an EKG.
Heart fibrillation (ex atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter) can lower BP,
and cause the symptoms you describe.
While a.fib. itself isn't that dangerous it can trigger more serious arrhythmia,
not to mention a. fib. can cause a thrombus/stroke.

Point is, you need to rule our heart issues being the cause here.

It's one of the arm bands at level with my heart. I monitor everyday and it's always below 120/80. You're the man doc. Knowledgable as always. I will certainly get this checked out thank you.

I'm pretty Ill with the flu right now a few days after the incident. Could that have an impact on my blood pressure? I am also finding a very high resting heart rate at around 90 bpm

    Thanks man

How was your water intake that day? Only reason I ask is because a small handful of times when I didn't drink hardly any water throughout the day, I will wake up in the middle of the night (closer to morning) and feel so dizzy and like i'm about to faint, and likely much like how you felt. Although I never monitored my blood pressure when this was happening, I am sure it was very low, based on how I was feeling. Drinking some water would alleviate the symptoms after about 15-30 minutes of suffering. I'm 100% sure that what I have felt those couple times, was from lack of water intake that day. Some are more prone to the affects of dehydration than others, and some respond different/worse than others.

Dehydration can cause blood pressure to drop, it's something you should also be conscious of in addition to the results of your tests at the cardiologist; which I definitely second the recommendation to go get checked.

Hey man. Absolutely no water intake was just out of bed so had been fasted for around 10 hours.

Should I just make a phone call to my gp and tell them what had happened and see what they reccomend to get checked?

Pretty sure your cuff is junk. I don't trust wrist cuffs at all.
And why would you have a stroke from low boood pressure?
And to the guy with the celery advice: stop. You're giving advice to treat hypertension (not that celery sticks are going to do shit).

At very low blood pressure I thought there was still a risk of stroke as there is at extremely high...? I may well be wrong

No. Hypotension just causes dizziness, then unresponsivess, and eventually cardiac arrest if untreated.
