Zeus' competition entry 17 April 2017
Hi guys welcome to my competition log. I will compile my diet and supplements along with my activities everyday and I'll try to keep up with some progress pictures.
This is the beginning of the end for fat me.
As usual on my threads I always welcome any advice that you more experienced guys feel will benefit me. Please do go easy on only a young 'un.
I am also in it to win it.... head is down... the next 12 weeks will be the most productive of my life so far.
Went out with a bang last night at a friend's birthday. Probably gained 5lbs already
Long introductions aside... I will check in later with my full day.
Hope I can count you all on Team Zeus!

DAY 1
Started my competition journey with a fasted 4 mile run/walk. Went good but had a debilitating stitch in my stomach and had to take a break at the half way mark and enjoyed the nature for a bit... was able to run normally after that. Took me around an hour was nice, however I struggled mentally to get out of my bed. Almost went back to sleep but my willpower succeeded.
No training today...
Diet
630g chicken breast
50g peanut butter
4 eggs
250g brown rice
Broccoli
Around 1800 calories
Supplements
3000mg cod liver oil
2x msm glucosamine
2x Zma
15mg yohimbine
Creatine, bcaa and Nac in my water that I'm sipping all day
Had about 6l
Weight 179lbs
Here's to a good first day lads. Any thoughts or input... Chuck it below!Last edited by hollowedzeus; 04-17-2017 at 12:34 PM.

The NAC, that stuff tastes horrible.
Just chug it down 6-800mg in the morning and evening, maybe not on a totally empty stomach either (just take it when you're not that empty, or do if you don't react to it). Just a suggestion.
And NAC is more of a longevity/liver support supp,
it's good for hindering atherosclerosis and good for the liver, but it doesn't seem to help with any type of exercise.

NAC to me is kinda like sulfur.
Not like sulfur as in rotten eggs, but as an aminoacid,
then again, i just might think so cause it is a sulfuric amino acid.
Unless you're liver I severely fucked, in which case the cysteine accumulates and is dangerous, (and SAMe would do the trick instead),
it's a great supp to aid the liver producing glutathione.
It's even used for acetaminophen overdose, either as an oral or an injectable antidote to raise glutathione levels and prevent APAP toxicity.
SAMe can also be used as such an antidote.
Anyway, it doesn't help performance.
Even seen studies claiming it hinders performance (muscle growth or whatever), but I doubt that.

Boss I realize you are trying to cut. And maybe some vets can back me on this.
Even with a cut, never train fasted. You can do cardio fasted sure. But your body and muscle need the fuel: depending how intense the session, you will use the food as energy anyways. Always eat before lifting.
Just thought I would share a thought for u

I never understood how people can actually view food as anything more than a source of fuel, and if I had the option to operate in a battery or something so I'd never have to eat again, that's not something I'd think twice about.
On the flip side, being fond of food will aid you greatly when it comes to bulking later. Might not be fun now, but you got the willpower.
Wish you luck and remember we all got our issues.

Would doing 1500 calories of cardio on a 2200 calorie per day diet be stupid?
Just because I want to ramp the cardio up a little today.

I was just going to say - you should be bulking b/c honestly you don't have enough tissue to cut you'd be too thin... then if you start gaining fat up your cardio... but you sir should be bulking
Start at 250-500cals over maintenance and check out Marcus' dungeon(Real HIT) it's put slabs of meat on many members and it's a proven method! Tweaks here and there but practice going to failure first and foremost don't waste reps or setsLast edited by NACH3; 04-20-2017 at 07:53 AM.
