You should put "other-explain, please" as an option. Standing alone as a vehicle on its own merits, i think it's a phenomenal machine. The fact that it's a Porsche, however, greatly detracts from its appeal in my opinion, troublesome as a view that may be. I'm by no means a porsche purist, though I do think that their foray into the SUV market represents everything that is wrong with the marketplace from an aesthetics vantage.

It's just ugly... butt ugly.
Damm whats wrong with a nice Eddie Bauer Ford Expedition? At least it's a real 4x4 truck with a solid frame, not some trumped up unibody shell with a 4 wheel drive under it.
I like porshes but come on... porsche = real nice sports cars... if you want a 4x4, get the real thing!

Thanks for all the feedback. As I assumed, most thought of the car to be relatively ugly, however, for some reason I still think its beautiful!...I must agree with one of the above comments that porsche should have stayed as a maker of luxury sport cars, rather then to fall into the SUV market, however, they made a gorgeous SUV that goes 0-60 in 5.5 seconds...

I am going to hate myself for saying this but I think it looks like the Hyundai SUV, just a lil bigger. I am hardcore porsche, shit i'd sacrifice a testicle for a 911, but the Cayenne is the only car they shouldn't have produced and the only one I don't like. Porsche should stick to making high end sports cars, and leave SUVs for Hummer.

if you are looking into a sweet luxury sports SUV then i would go with the new RX330 by Lexus. personally i think it is the best midsize SUV that not only performs well but looks sweet.
or you could get the new range rover in black on black...that would be a nice ride as well.

What about the BMW M-Series (or whatever series makes up their SUV)? I know the performance doesn't remotely measure up, but you get a comparable interior and a slightly more traditional look. I agree with daem, however, regarding the new lexus, they've taken the RX300 to another level altogether.

HeartDoc.-- Like I said before, YES, it is odd looking....but go drive the twin turbo. There will be no turning back. Prance your little Dr. hind end into the dealership and give that thing a good ole thrashing of a test drive. It's like driving the 911 carrera w/ turbo, just more car under you. Oh yeah, and you can actually fit a regular sized human being in the back seats. Porsche doesn't make crap!

Ichiban, I test drove the Cayenne Turbo, and it rides like a dream. However, they are absurd with the options. Memory seats are an option?...Most luxury cars normally come with that standard. So I fully loaded it, and I am not sure if the car really warrants the price they want for it. Thanks for all the opinions everyone

a family friend just bought one and he really likes it. i still think it's incredibly ugly though.

Doc.-- You are right on the money about the options. They are kinda silly the way they are set up. I think that porsche will need to change that.
I agree with you on the lex. and bmw. The lex is slow (maybe why my mom loves it?) and bmws ALWAYS have silly little problems. Have you checked out the acura mdx? I have one and love it. It's got luxurey, it's not slow, and it will NOT fall apart. Have you checked out the mercedes ml (? the suv), my step mom had one for a while and got in a REALLY bad wrek with a semi. and walked away. ( of course the skank now has a real tank, a range rover). Good luck and have fun driving all those new cars!
