Home gym flooring issue

Got a sweet condo. Putting together a home gym in my garage. The gym will be shared with my 74 Nova and Harley. I have a power rack and a pulley attachment coming. I already have a power runner and some dumbbells. So interlocking rubber mats are pricey. There's a fitness store here that sells stall mats for a good price, yes stall mats as in for horses. They are not interlocking though. So any suggestions on stopping them from shifting around because I know it will happen. I hate the dirt that will get in between. I was thinking maybe some kind of heavy duty double sided tape. Can't put any weird glue down on the garage floor because it is a rental.

Let me know what you guys think.

You could try carpet tape, but I have no idea if it'll stick to those mats.

I buy all mine from a farm type business names "Southern States" and they're cheap. Years back when I bought my smith machine I was looking at the mats as well and the salesman actually told me not to buy them, go to the above. As you said, not interlocking but well worth it.

Just had a idea. Maybe a carpet foam pad underneath could hold them still hhmm

I own a flooring company. For the price, luxury vinyl tile (LVT) can't be beat. It comes in squares or planks and can be floated or glued. It starts around 60 cents a square foot. Online order it from Dalton, GA when you find the brand and item number you like.

Dunno about doing the whole floor but lay down rubber on each side of the squat rack and wherever you dead lift. I snapped an olympic bar by not doing this.

I wouldn't glue rubber to a floor. Rubber backing will always degrade and adhere to the subfloor in a way it will actually change the floor composition. It's impossible to 100% remove.

Okay so I got my mats, still need to pick up one tomorrow. They are 4'X6' and with how my equipment will be arranged the way it will be I may not need to worry about them shifting. They are nice. I'll even take a pic of my home gym once it all arrives.
