I am going crazy. I cannot work out. Is there anything that I can do to decrease my down time? After sitting for periods of time, it takes a lengthy walk to loosen the muscle so I can walk normal. I am planning on starting my workouts on Monday. Any thoughts?

RICE - Rest Ice Compress Elevate - no gym....time to work on that diet. I think muscles relaxers work very well to help speed up recovery time along with an anti-inflammatory. Take the weekend off and do your PT type streches. I actually want you to finish and get up on stage. Getting old sucks. Youth is wasted on the yonge.

Crushed it but died towards the end.

    Workout:
8 sets 10 reps calf raises
    8 sets 10 reps deadlifts
6 sets 10 reps hammer chest press
4 sets 10 reps standing lat pulldowns

    I’m whooped

I haven’t missed a workout in over a year, rarely use cheat meals, take care of myself from a health standpoint..Now look at me, it is hard just to get up out of a chair. If I could know how long until I return to normal, I would be OK so I could plan it out. Right now I have a fear of the unknown.
I have not been taking anything for pain because pain is just a figment of your imagination. I am beginning to doubt this concept.

It's hard to say charger if anything besides what bg and David said would help or not. Exercise and stretching could irritate it and slow down the recovery. I would leave it alone over the weekend

A anti inflammatory med like aleeve of ibuprofen could help it heal, not just help with pain. I would definitely take one of those

No pain that make you hit the floor is your body saying I am hurt MF. Workout pain is just weakness leaving the body, injury pain is totally different. I would have gotten some pain meds from the doctor. I always have extras due to not liking to take them but when its real pain I will grad a pill fast.

The worst thing you can do for any injury is lay around, at least soft tissue injury. As the body is healing if the tissue is not stressed along its normal lines of tension. When new collagen is laid down, it gets plopped down in an incoherent and messy manner. This is basically know as scar tissue. On the flip side of that, if the tissue is being stressed normally (granted lightly) the fibroblast cells know where to and where not to lay down new collagen. Long term NSAID usage will also hamper this as you need some inflammation to heal. A week or two isn’t a big deal, at least from what data I’ve seen.

    Good leg workout today,

Today was more of a met con workout for legs. Nothing super heavy just performed in supersets of quads and hams. Did some plyo stuff like 48” box jumps and burpees, lots and lots of burpees.

I didn’t seem to feel it at the time but my lower quads really took the blunt of the exercises. Woke up at 206.4 this morning so weight held steady but just found a new vein poking out in my lower abs. They are coming back!

Listen to Joe Rogan’s podcast, he has some pretty good experts and such on this. He’s pretty interested in exercise sci stuff. I spent years in a lab studying this stuff, so I should know something about all this. Lol wish I could have figured out how to make money off of it, as opposed to being just an Internet know it all.

I know you old folks are up!

Walked a mile to the deer stand, it’s 31 down here in South Louisiana. That’s real cold for us down here! Must be -31 in Diesel101’s territory!

Been up since 0400. WTF is this waking up at 0400 and not being able to go back to sleep. If I had to do anything this early in the past I would be dragging ass but not in the past few months. I must be getting older. I hope you get a nice doe. I need deer meat in my frezer. I am about out.
