What age would you like to retire and how do you see your life being like in your ideal world of retirement?

I would appreciate comfortable living and freedom to do what I wish, when I wish. Historically the men in my family goes to the grave out of breath.

I would like a change of pace at 45 or 50 and to settle into a machinist shop where I can make and invent things for production.

I would love to retire asap. Not to be lazy.... but to focus on staying healthy and doing some good for humanity. Unfortunately it's not looking like it's going to happen anytime soon.....

A perfect world for me would be a comfortable living situation (money), my kids being healthy and doing well in school/life, and being able to focus on bodybuilding to see what I could achieve.

If I live to retire, I would be pretty boring. Lots of personal studying to do, work around the property, get more involved with mastiff rescue and improvement of health screening and breeding.
I'm very rural, but we do have a pretty talented high school football team. Have been asked several times to volunteer there.
Of course, I would continue to lift, reload, and shoot. One promise I've made to Mrs. AG is that we would go on a cruise/vacation. Really hope it is Iceland!!

I plan to retire in ten years (55), but not sure I'll make it. I have a 7 and 2 1/2 year old daughters, so it'll probably be more like twenty years...lol

I'd like to farm for my own food and raise some animals. Healthy foods become even healthier if you make them yourself. Fresh eggs and rabbit meat, delicious! Feed them flaxseed or something so they convert the ALA to DHA and EPA for you. Solar/wind power, water purification system and satellite internet and I'm all set, just need to bring some new Thai girl now and then for company. And a fully equipped powerlifting gym with 200lbs dbs and hammer strength machines, several kgs of raws and a freezer full of pharma GH. Might break a world record.

IDK about retirement. But ready to only work to live not live to work. Us here in the US tend to live to work. I could not retire and sit on the couch but would love not to "have to" work. I would always be busy doing something. There are a lot of things I could "work at" andnever be working.

I would like to retire at about 40 ish, come on who wants to work all there days ?. I could/would not sit on my ass i just can not do that.

Interesting to read the different views and i wouldn't question any to be fair because its all an individual preference. I didnt think I'd see so many who wouldn't stop work but great replies

I must also add, if I live long enough I will write a book. This will have to be when I reach an age where I can settle down with a pen and a glass of alcohol.

Of course, I will pay for the editing, marketing, and distribution of the damn thing and no one will buy it... But I will give copies of it as a shitty christmas present to people I know and dont like that much. So after a few years I will break even.

I am planning on the being able to retire at the age of 57. I could probably make it happen a couple of years earlier but to be 100% positive I can live the lifestyle I want to I will wait until 57 possibly 58.
I do have a plan in effect to sell the diesel repair shops but I will keep my rental properties.
I never see myself sitting around waiting to die like a lot of retired people do.

I dont care if i ever retire, however I never want an extremely time demanding job. Im blessed to have that now.

This is very true!
I could have probably retired at 50 easily financially if I would have saved more money along the way.
I believe you have to live life along the way, I see to many people that work,save and sacrifice their whole life just to retire someday and they forget to live life to its fullest.

My mother passed away at the age of 57 and all the money in the world would not have saved her.

Don't kid yourself I like money as much as anybody but its the little things that make life great.
A day playing and hanging out with my 18 month old granddaughter is worth more than anything money could ever buy.

I retired a month before my 24th birthday. Im 29 now. I own my home and car so I have somewhere to sleep every night. Life is simple but good enough for me. I got to the beach. I sleep. I draw. I go camping and I go on holidays. I only have 15k cash at the moment so I need to make more money this year or next year cause im running low. But fuck waking up and going to work everyday.
