    Oxygen therapy

As I have easy acess to oxygen concentrators doing some experimentation if it can have some utility for us.

Question is will 30min of 100%(more accurately 95%) oxygen administration through nasal cannula, before and after training has benefits?

There is several sports in which they pump O2 through for the locker rooms. From the 1st reactions, it peaceful puts me in a good mood, the first times used noticed some strength increase, no seeing it anymore. For headaches its wonderful, gone in 10 minutes.
As for recovery I am still testing.
Another thing Im testing is if lower RBC and hematocrit, my hypothesis is the opposite of what happens to smokers or ppl living in high altitude, where they get higher hematocrit due to this environmental factors. Maybe if you supplement enough 100% oxygen your body recognizes that its doesnt need so many RBC, lowering hematocrit... Will do bw next week or so.

There are some ppl claiming a lot of things for Oxygen therapy, will just paste it here, you guys take your own conclusions:

BENEFITS of INHALING PURE O2 through OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR
90% of our energy comes from oxygen, and only 10% from food and water thus increasing oxygen supply daily can:
    • Viruses and bacteria can’t live in high-oxygen environments and your healthy cells can’t become infected when they are oxygenated.
    • Strengthens your heart, reducing the risk of heart attacks & Help With Cardiovascular Activity
    • Calms your mind and stabilizes your nervous system
    • Provides a natural remedy for headaches, migraines and hangovers, fatigue, stress, jet lag, cramps, minor aces and pains, exhaustion
    • Relieves temporary altitude discomfort
    • Improves muscle stiffness, supports pre-athletic performance; helps remove lactic acid buildup in muscles
    • Speeds up the body's recovery after physical exertion
    • Stimulate Brain Activity, Increase Memory Capacity
    • Boost Concentration, Develop Stronger Alertness
    • Detoxify Your Blood, Raise Energy Levels
    • Improve Strength & Build Endurance
    • Reduce Stress & Calm anxiety
    • Alleviate Tension Headaches, Remedy Irregular Sleeping Patterns
    • Prevent Lactic Acid Build Up
    • Increases circulation & strengthen the immune system (which normally protects us from infections)
    • Revitalize the Skin
    • Promote a Safer and darker Tan
    • Prevent disease, relieve hangovers
    • help fight off depression
    • Promotes healing and counters aging
    • On a long term basis, it flushes all the toxins and impurities out of your body preventing cancer from gaining a foothold

This is with only 30% oxygen, small study but interesting: Recovery Effects of Repeated Exposures to Normobaric Hyperoxia on Local Muscle Fatigue

    Interested.

My only experience with o2 administration was in Emergency Medical training. Old school knowledge suggested going straight to pumping lots of o2 on someone with a suspected heart attack or reported trouble breathing... This is generally no longer the case in the field.

This is only very loosely related to your proposal but I thought you might find it interesting nontheless: https://consumer.healthday.com/gener...ms-693793.html

Yes, that is interesting. Alls MDs keep saying O2 administration will do nothing for sports performance/recovery but clearly it does "something", what it does either positive or negative is another subject.

For example, cluster headaches treatment with O2 has a success rate of 70%, nobody knows why exactly. Migraines also can be cured, up to 50%, by administering O2 when symptoms arrive.

Here's another interesting study with a compound we know quite well, NAC: Effect of N-acetyl-cysteine and hyperoxia on erythropoietin production.

I am sure professional sports are quite interested in this.

I remember a time ago when they were marketing oxygen bars around cities all over. Guess they still exist out there.

Definitely interesting as I wonder how it would affect me having asthma
