    Stepping away

It kills me to do this but I think it’s time for me to step away from this game for awhile. I love and hate this lifestyle all at the same time. The discipline, the repetitiveness, and the isolation are all getting old, but they also are sickly why I liked this lifestyle. It completely consumes me and I think it has finally taken it’s toll on me.

I have always been a low energy person and always found it difficult to get to the gym 5-6 days a week after a long day at work. But lately it’s at another level... if I can even force myself to go to the gym, I zone out between sets, my mind is not in it, there’s no motivation or intensity.

I’m even on cycle... and still lack motivation. The results from this cycle have been slow and disappointing... and it’s obviously due to a lack of motivation to get my meals in and train with the proper intensity.

Bodybuilding is such a huge part of who I am I feel like I’ll be losing a part of myself but I’m not getting anything out of it anymore because of my lack of motivation.... I just can’t keep going through the motions. I use to be on this site multiple times a day and now im lucky if I get on it more than a couple times a week.

Like I said this is such a huge part of me and my identity it’s going to hurt pretty bad to watch it slip away but I just feel, at least for the time being I have nothing left to give... I’m going to come off my cycle because at this point I’m just wasting gear.
Idk if it’s my new job that is causing me some stress, or what, if anything is wrong with me but I’m just too exhausted to enjoy anything in life... and forcing myself to go to the gym just seems to make things worse. I hope I can come out of this slump because the sport of bodybuilding means a lot to me but I just don’t feel like I have it in me anymore.

    You're human.

Why not just consider it some needed rest. Take the summer off, have fun and recharge. Mental breaks are just as important as physical ones. Life can get busy and pull us in all directions. There doesn't seem to be enough time in the day. Personally I take a couple weeks off (or more) every year. It definitely helps me.

When off for a good while be sure to get some BW to see how you are doing as well. When the fall gets here you'll bounce back with renewed focus!

    Its sad to hear YB.
You gotta do what you must though just take a little break and see how you feel in 6 months or a year. The muscle memory will be there and you can find something else to do for a while.

Watch yourself though... Don't let this turn into a depression creeping up on you unknowingly. If you start feeling down get help immediately.

This is sad to hear, but I understand. I fear that I will get that way some day. Right now I use the weights to relieve my stress at work. Trying to get in the second workout is sometimes stressful

    Try it. Six weeks.
You will drop your two a day workouts. After six weeks your body will need a break.

Taking a long time off is pretty recommended in some cases..
You'll come back recharged more than before or you'll find other things to replace this hobby with but either way Its all a journey, rather not focus on the negative...

If your body and mind are telling you to take a step back do it, sometimes we cant always be a machine and run efficiently all the time. Maybe if you cant get yourself to the gym try and do something else you enjoy even if its just walking and taking in some fresh air do something you enjoy and see if the desire comes back.

Take way more than the recommended amount of PWO, then you have no choice other than to go to the gym. Problem solved

Take a week off and you will miss it again!

And you don’t have to be a bodybuilder to still use the gym. You can go and lift and not try to pop your eyeball out of socket with every lift.

For me, the gym is where I go to let the stress out and get my day going in the right direction. If I didn’t go, I would be 300lbs easy cuz I love to eat!

What are some of your other hobbies? If you take time off from the gym, what will fill that void?

    That’s terrible advice!

If I take too much preworkout I get all tweaked out like a meth head and can’t focus at all. It actually messes me up bad.

Same. I only take half for that reason. Im a PC gamer so usually my posts can be a little trollee some times... I thought that was evident, wasn't supposed to be a serious suggestion. Mah bad
Dont actually do that OP, you could easily push yourself too hard and get hurt. No to mention the heart palpitations will be ebola

Thanks for all the support guys... I hope to get back into it sooner than later but we’ll see. I have take time off before.... but it usually wasn’t by choice (vacations, surgery, injuries). I just recently had two weeks off... went on vacation for a week and then was sick for a week the week after.... and even after those two weeks I still am not feeling it.

I’m going to do exactly what Kel said... I’m ending my cycle and going to get back on my clomid HRT and get blood work done in a couple months... hopefully I’ll be able to achieve good levels again with the clomid after being shut down for so long.

If my levels come back crappy I’ll be pretty upset knowing I fried my balls but maybe that will take away some of the stress that cycling aas gives me and I’ll be happier running a cycle and using test for my HRT knowing there’s nothing to lose.

I took about 3 months off starting in Jan due to back injury and gallbladder removal, no big deal, took me a couple weeks to get back into the groove. You'll know when you ready to start back. Good luck man

I took an entire year off when my son was born. Best thing I did. When I started back it took time to reacclimate but all was well. Didn't really feel like I lost much of anything. I'll repeat myself here but when I come off a cycle I usually feel better - healthier. Almost like it's a relief and my body can take a breath and relax.

    You'll be fine yb.
