    If I counted macros...

    If I counted macros...
I would have someone collecting samples of my shit, to have it analyzed every day to find out what nutrients my body is disposing of as unnecessary and what it is lacking.

I would develop a perfect diet along side a thorough map of energy expenditure and muscle breakdown, including all the factors that could affect TDEE needs while enhanced. I would factor in the amounts of compounds I was on and in what ways to adjust my diet.

Until that day I will eat a lot (all I can) of chicken and rice, eaa's, veggies, protein and consider macro counting nutritional mastrubation.

I can think about work for ten minutes and burn more calories than most guys can in three hours on a treadmill.
There are olympiads that never counted macros, not even for prep.

I believe you either have a good metabolism for building muscle or you don't. You either put in the work to maximize the amount of food you put into your body and vice versa, or you circle jerk eating a set diet, leading you nowhere.

Fat and small guys can argue with it all day long

Macros are based of a general assumption of varying tdee.

There is no perfect diet and individuals do not metabolize food anything alike. Sorry but my tdee cant be figured off of age, activity, sex, weight and height.

I am not one of the "normal" people.

I have read a lotta shit about diet.
In the end, no one will ever put me on a diet close to what my best guess is through experience.

    No tdee calculator
    No anabolic science mastrubation manual.
Just a moron with a plate of chicken, a box of rice, and sore muscles.

A nutritionist is like the kid at oriellys telling you which brand of oil is best for your car. Thats cute son, but I have been running castrol and mobil for as long as you been alive and I have put on millions of miles from motorcycles to 18 wheelers.

You don't need a diet coach other than yourself.
No one is going to tell me what kind of meat my body extracts protein from most efficiently or what carb sources are best for me.

If they dug through my shit long enough they might be able to develop a varying diet that fit me best. Till then it is trial and error.

I tracked macros for about 3 years straight, and its unhealthy! You spend too much time thinking about what you can and can’t eat, whether you can fit an extra cup of oats in or a shake.. it completely ruins your relationship with food.

Now I eat when I’m hungry and stop when I’m full/satisfied, pick the right foods and a enjoy some junk here and there… If you start putting on a bit on unwanted fat throw in some extra cardio or drop a cup of rice…. Easy!

People like to over complicate things. (Unless your getting ready for a show of course in which case counting would make your life easier, but otherwise, no thanks)

That works when your appetite is still good and healthy I'd be eating half I do if I didn't count macros and weren't learned about nutrition.

Difficult when you appetite is bad, but when that happens to me I use shakes blended with banans, oats, honey, pb etc.. and can ruffly gauge where i stand calorie wise

Don't understand half the rambling shit you go on about but let me try and add some value if I can lol lol - hope your well obs by the way.
I don't count macros anymore I stopped around 15 years ago because I know my body that well and I know what nutritional value most foods I eat have so I don't count them anymore. I fully understand why some newer guys do this to the gram but ive done it that long I just don't need to do it anymore.

I'm still trying to figure out what the chicken, rice and sore muscles have to do with this?

I've never counted macro's in my life. I doubt I ever will. It would take the fun out of it for me. Like Marcus said, after time you know what and how much work for you in this game.

    You are another prime example.
I have heard soooo many say you wont get anywhere unless you count macros. I think if you have to count macros to get somewhere you need to find a new hobby.

The chicken and rice are only in this because I needed company.

With respect, I count macro's. Not always, but a lot. Rarely on Saturdays, but often the other 6 days.

I live a life where I'm surrounded by people who I want to eat with, but they don't eat the way I do. I heard this acronym somewhere, "BLT's". "Bites, lick's, & tastes", that kills me. My kids love snacks, lots of birthday parties, and my oldest bakes a ton of delicious stuff. The shear volume of what's available, and the number of times I hear "Dad, please try what I just baked" is overwhelming. I'm not NOT going to enjoy what my kids are doing, so counting macro's allows me to taste what they taste in moderation, but track it (not perfectly, but at least with some margin of error) and make up the difference when I eat my other meals. Plus, I don't love making two separate meals all the time, one for me and one for them. True, I do often cook them a pizza while I eat chicken, but on the whole, we all eat meat/veggies/and carbs at the dinner table together, and if I don't weight it out (sometimes by scale, sometimes visually) then my weight goes up. keeping tabs on macro's/calories makes my dietary life far easier then trying to keep everything in my head. Also, dinner and lunch meetings are a large part of my career. By keeping track of what I've eaten throughout the day, I can go into dinner knowing generally what I'm free to eat.

Is it perfect? nope. Am I consistent? Somewhat. I think (hope?) life is more about guidelines, rather than rules. tracking my food just gives me clearer guidelines.

...of course, maybe this is why I don't look like you big'ol mo-fo's

I mean no disrespect to any who do count macros I just get tired of reading that I won't be anything worthwhile unless I count macros.

Whatever a guy has to do to stay on track growing but in my case that means eating all the protein and carbs (with a reasonable balance) that I possibly can.

Have to count macros on a cut. Some people just have the genes to be low bodyfat, like 8% and less with no control of their diet, junk food several times per week etc.

I remember having to count macros in the beginning to get a feel for how much I need but always ate more anyway. So I kept finding new foods and counting until I found meal combos that made me full without going past 4k cals per day which eventually means I need to cut again, unfortunately that is the way my appetite leads me to but not so gifted in the metabolism department.

I do count macros occasionally, whether it is to increase some micronutrient (last time I upped my potassium), omega 3/6 balance the past year with varying food sources, insoluble/soluble fiber count. Once I've experimented I know which foods I need and which can replace others I don't need to anymore.

I have had tremendous success helping other people improve their physique by teaching them macro counting and sticking to staple foods and portions, mostly for fat loss, but these people are the type who can't get it done without counting, some do fine without.

You use guns to hunt them, correct?

Do you use 22lr like the gator guys in history channel, or something bigger?

I think the .224 Valkyrie would be nice to use on them.

Maybe too much, but it's a fun round to shoot
