From someone who trusts you enough that you can send them USD thru venmo, PayPal, or CashApp and they send you BTC in exchange...

Bitcoin atm here doesn’t. You just scan the QR code on your phone and dump it right to your wallet

In my area I had to do id before transaction.
    It was $300.
    Strange how it varies.

A brother from another site recommended a site, for verification they have required the following

For level 1, you need to upload two documents:

A valid government issued ID: International Passport (non-US), Driver's License or National ID
A selfie of you holding this ID and a paper note with “Coinmama” and today’s date written on it

Anyone else actually done this? seems sketchy

    is this the norm?

Yeah, its fairly common with the two places I've used... I use coinbase now. Yes, they require verification under a real name (state ID etc), but it's secure, easy to use, and quick... Maybe its risky, but for our purposes here, I order so little that I feel the risk is acceptable.

As it turned out, Bitcoin is not as anonymous as you are believing in it, for ordinary users, it's a great anonymity, for large numbers of transactions are monitored and checked! Read bitcoin forums to get more info on bitcoin
