    The holiday season

Alright guys, it's starting to be that time of the year, where the gym is crowded with people that use their membership a few times a year. Let's make an attempt to not tear their heads off. Those people are how gyms stay in business and the reason it's not busy the other 75% of the year

November and February are always our busiest months. think I've signed up like 20 new members in the last couple weeks, and yes old members who don't show up that often are now showing up.

but none the less, the average American will gain 8 pounds over the holidays . thats why they come back in February

This is the time of year when I start scouting for a lifting partner for a while. You can tell the new guys, and I figure if I can get my claws into one of them, they can become a long time lifter, instead of a holiday statistic.
Still haven’t found one yet who wants anything more than some pointers on a goddamned machine though. That shit is fine, but they’re not gonna stick with me long, as 95+% of my time is spent in a power rack.

I’m the guy who you will see dancing around between sets. If it’s good enough for Bryce Lewis, it’s good enough for me. Something something angry dancing ginger bears.

I was a resolutioner 14 years ago and have been with it ever since so I do try to be supportive. I do give credit to everyone that gives it a try. But yes very few will stick with it.

You guys are all Negative Nelly’s and are looking at it the wrong way!
More people means more beautiful women.
I don’t go for the women, but there are some good looking females.
Look at the positive side guys. ... just don’t tell my wife. LOL

Started to do a little personal training at the gym I go to. The owner puts a picture up with a little bio about each trainer. I had to take 8 pictures before they found one that wasn't too intimidating to hang up. They were afraid some of them would "scare" the resolutioners coming in for new memberships and possible training.

Not that I'm big but still kinda took it as a compliment.

This is also me, except it’s one rack, because I’m supersetting squats, dips and pullups, and it’s all attached to the power rack I’m in.

If you’re using the one station & not wasting time; never a problem here.

I think the biggest issue that I pose for most people is that when I set up shop in the rack, I’ll be there for at least an hour. I’m not a “3 sets of halfassed squats then go play with the machines and dumbells” kind of person. Such is why I generally try to get to the gym either when it first opens, or when I know it’s dead.

Not really. The actual squat/pull/push supersetting takes between 40-45 minutes. The warm-up etc. added on puts it closer to there.

There was a guy doing barbell curls on the only deadlift platform yesterday. That's worse than the squat rack

You can do deadlifts from the floor but you need a squat rack to squat.
