The real "truth" is that we have no clue on wtf this shit will do to us in the looong run
1/2 of the shit we run like no other now, wasn't even available a decade or 2 back
Shit, back in the 50's they suggested a cigaratte when you stress - that went over well

I mean... they give a lot of this stuff to you at anti aging clinics so as far as I can tell, we’re icons of health.

lol . I was just messing with him. its easy to tell when he's had a few too many beers in him. I've had a million occasions myself with a few too many beers in me as well .. and guess what happens as soon as I do , an overwhelming feeling of self confidence. which is not necessarily a bad thing at all .. beer is good for the soul and makes men manly
when Arnold was asked about his diet and asked if he drank milk, his answer was 'milk is for babies , men drink beer'

One benefit of being on gear is that you don’t have to worry about alcohol fucking up your testosterone production... one thing I have noticed though is it’s a lot harder to get drunk than it use to be. Don’t know if my body metabolizes it faster or what, but I don’t even drink very often anymore and my tolerance is still pretty up there

ok a little biology here
the biggest within a given species are the ones that have the shortest life span . guess what . steroids make you bigger among your own species.
a 10 pound dog is likely going to live to 16 years old .. a 140 pound dog will likely live to 10.
Asian people generally live longer then anglo Saxon northerners.. Asians on average are way smaller in general.
this is true among most all species.. the bigger you are within a given species the short your life span will be as compared to others in your same species .
have you ever seen a 350 pound jacked 90 year old man ? no , all you see is small frail 110 pound 90 year old men .. if your 350 pounds and jacked your not going to make it to 90
thats the cost of being "big"

Our body is designed/has evolved to be lighter. Bones are not solid (large/long bones are hollow and filled with spongy bone). In class I largely have plastic reproductions of bones, but I also have real ones. It’s remarkable how feather-light your femur (thigh-bone is).
You carry as little blood as possible. This is accomplished by receptors around the body measuring activity (by heat production and chemical changes, such as hydrogen, oxygen and carbon dioxide). This is instantly relayed to the brain, which subsequently dilates arteries to more active tissues and constricts them to less active tissues. This dramatically drops your blood volume, which makes your cardiac output much less. You also don’t need nearly as many red blood cells, making the blood less dense and again dropping the cardiac output.

I have no interest in any other sport so know nothing about quarterbacks or basketball. I’m quite new to bodybuilding too, but am learning fast. I’m pretty good at making sense some would say
Arnold had arguably the best physique ever. He looked like a perfect sculpture. Even if Mr Olympia tournament was not as popular back then he still was / is the best. He definitely would win now too if he was in his prime again, without a coach.
Also, using a fucking fairy tale trying to prove your point, seriously? A good way to discredit yourself.

Still a kid at heart. Just treated some ex-students (28 y.o. now)to 2 nights of the beer and metal fest (hardcore & death metal). Looked good in a t-shirt, some bad-ass people made way when I went to a crowded bar to grab us beers. Only problem was I couldn’t do the mosh-pit due to my issues.
Life at this age is still VERY fulfilling (at times) perhaps my point.
TY for the compliment.

People who say they don't need a coach must not have a real job, or give a fuck about it. Considering a coach is just a fancy word for a "boss". Without my boss at work, I'd been fired years ago because I HAD NO FUCKING CLUE what I was doing without his teaching.

exactly .. its that way with everything in life. people who are successful generally are very coachable people . they are natural seekers and learners and don't mind being humbled by someone who doesn't even have half the skill they do .
again, bill bellichick can't throw a single touch down pass ever , yet tom Brady will and can yet will still listen to his coach.. the most successful people in life always had a coach, or a boss or a mentor . its just how the world works

Now, let’s talk about colon cancer. It’s true, rates are dropping. But it’s commonly accepted that it’s dropping due to improvements in early detection.
Now I know the FDA can be a questioned & they have classified red meat as being carcinogenic, so you could call b.s. And I’m NOT making an environmental statement here, nor am I preaching vegetarianism. But fish are swimming in more pollution, farmed fish, like other livestock is not raised with health in mind and chickens are raised likewise.
Just saying there may be a link there. So if we are pounding down 2 pounds of this daily with size in mind, far more than the average Joe, that might be another pending issue.
To you youngsters, when you approach 50, don’t blow off your colonoscopies. They are more than a pain in the ass to prep for & the thought of the procedure itself is a deterrent.

Nice to hear everyone's stories. Before I started lifting I was a runner not competitive but could run a sub 6 minute mile it was just something I liked doing, was a good way for me to release some stress, and keep me sane some days. I was 6' 145 lbs and made fun of constantly about my size so I decided to try out lifting and it wasn't long before I fell in love with it. Now I've got a few goals lift wise and would maybe like to do a show at some point but if I don't get to them I'm not going to be upset because just being able to lift and steadily progress makes me happier than anything.

Arnold at 18 if I'm not mistaken!

If I reach the age of these two in the photo, using AAS without any health problem I give thanks to God!

Sacrifice your health to become strong and muscular?
Just did, I look pretty good actually. Maybe not by your standards, but comparing to six months ago, I’m impressed with the progress.
Sometimes I need to listen more and speak less, I admit. Especially when talking to people far more knowledgeable on the subject, yes.Last edited by wavefunction; 01-21-2020 at 08:45 AM.

It’s comical to me when we look at the celebrities as “real” folk
Arnold, Stallone, Dwayne Johnson - etc
These guys have everything that we do not - from genetics to money
-

Not only celebrities have money. Doesn’t take all that much to hire nutritionist, buy gear, good food etc. Don’t assume everyone on here is broke.
I’m sure some of us here are genetically gifted too... Isn’t genetics often used as an excuse for not working hard enough? Look at David Goggins, he’s genetically predisposed to be a 300+ lbs fat man. Didn’t stop him from becoming one of the greatest athletes ever.

Don’t get it twisted. Genetics are a limiter, no matter how much we may want to go with “it’s all hard work bro” thing. This is ego talking. We don’t like shit being outside of our control, but until we learn how to modify the genome reliably (won’t happen in our lifetime), it’s going to be there.
However, this is irrelevant to most though. It’s a rare person even now that pushes their body long enough and hard enough to find out what they’re actually capable of.
This isn’t helped by people who come into this like I did. I was a disgusting, obese shitler until I was 26, and didn’t start training until I was 32. As such, I’ll never reach my real potential, because I didn’t start working toward it until I was past the most physically viable time in my life. Yes, gear is letting me catch up, BUT if I’d have started at 12, kept at it, AND started using AAS in my 20s, it would be a totally different game.

Ain't the same without your rants
Oh, to stay on topic..I would eat chunks of jagged glass if it made me grow..Ok, maybe not but, I have drank some protein shakes and dry chicken that could have passed for torture..gagged it down for years..nothing like force feeding, dry, disgusting chicken
Some of you know what I mean...

Sacrifice your health to become strong and muscular?
I can't eat chicken unless it's fresh outta the oven..or if I keep it moist with broth or mushroom soup..I've switched over to a lot more turkey and fish..

My new way of juicing/lifting is sustainable weight/size
Which means, no mega tons of gear or other ped’s - no insanity nutrition plans(chicken, nothing but chicken until swole) < fuck that
I’m real good now - mild gear, mild booze, all ped’s are gone aside from ephedrine & caffeine
I’m reall good - but, I do wanna get leaner. . . That’s where more gear really shines - with a ton of gear I was leaner & ate 5x more shit than now

Sacrifice your health to become strong and muscular?
Grilled chicken is a exception, or I do a baked chicken in mushroom soup and peas it warms up fresh and moist..key is flattening the breast to same size by smashing them down and high temp low time and brining the chicken for 4-5 hours hit both sides quick on pan to seal in moisture and seasoning..hit em high temp and quick..the best!!
FYI for you guys who didnt know..best chicken to me too reheat, besides grilled..
Oh whole reason I was posting, sorry smoked some medical cannabis for my....glaucoma lol
Started getting hungry..ok here's my take on lifting forever
I stopped trying to be strongest in gym..I have from years of that..I wanna maintain a nice healthy muscular body..I focus more on warming up and stretching, correct form and using food as more of the driving force for growth instead of heavy training..I warm up really well..hit my group of the day hard...focusing on negatives, slow reps, mind muscle connection and usually drop sets on my 2nd or 3 set and that's it, for that muscle group..max 2-3 exercises per muscle group..then a lot of stretching..Funny at 20 it was 2 min warm 2 hours training no stretching,.
If you love the game..like I know some of you guys do like me..you will adjust your training and doses accordingly or you won't get the full life outta your body..I will do everything to stay in game forever..
Rant over
