    Fuck Cancer

Went in to have a cyst removed from my back...had another one I thought was a hemorrhoid. Well found out yesterday they were carcinomas. As of now I have rectal cancer. Spent 3 hours with an oncologist yesterday.
Not sure why I’m telling you guys, just need to vent I guess. Feels a bit cathartic.
Have a PET scan next week, pelvic MRI and a colonoscopy. Praying it isn’t anywhere else, won’t know until after the PET scan.
45 fucking years old, eat clean as a whistle. Don’t smoke, rarely drink and no family history. I’m crushed.
8 weeks of radiation and chemo as it stands. Will know more after the PET scan.
Can’t bring myself to tell my kids yet.

I give two fucks about corona virus, least of my worries. My attitude on a lot of shit has changed in just 24 hours. I’m not sweating the small stuff anymore. Making sure I’m more patient and I’m gonna smile more.

Kiss your loved ones, call an old buddy you’ve been meaning to and embrace your health. Also make sure and do your god damn checkups.

Not sure how I’ll feel once treatments start, guess I won’t be starting that DHB cycle for a while now.
Fuck traveling for work for a bit.

Hope I’ll have it in me to get some semblance of a workout in. I’ll check in when I know more, and when I can. I get it’s an Internet forum, but fuck if I won’t share my story. Not gonna be another statistic. I got hit a god damn bus on a HD, ain’t going out like this. Not my ending.

Be strong, be kind. Appreciate the good ones.

    My best to you all

Take your time to be mad, then regroup and do what you have to do...

It is never easy but, the goal is set and then you achieve it! prayers for the best.

Fuck man. What else is there to say? There’s no words. I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now. Don’t lose your admirable optimism, you’re one hell of a strong man and this isn’t going to stop you. I’ll be keeping you and your family in my thoughts.

I am not in your shoes but I have some advice. Relax and don’t you dare give up. We are here for you. You vent all you want and don’t let it build up inside.
I know cancer very well and know that the odds of me getting it are close to 100%. My mother and sister are both gone due to it. My father had it and beat it I. He presently has issues I. His throat and we feel that it may be cancer.
My mother in law had it and beat it also.

I am sure it is way too soon to make a good prognosis. I handle things like this by keeping busy and not letting my mind focus on it.
    Your in my prayers brother.

Just remember the Lord is with you

    Isaiah 41:10 King James Version

10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness

Its tragic news for sure but definitely not the end. I had good power lifting buddy several years back contract cancer. He did lose weight, he felt shitty, and looked horrible but he STILL came to the gym even on his chemo treatment and alas he BEAT it!

I know with your strong will and mindset you can do the same brother. You have an entire community here to listen and comfort you. I believe sincerely you will have no problem beating this big man! Just remember to stay strong minded through the tough times, you will bounce back quicker than a lightning bolt...

Are you a Christian? The chemo will be a lot easier if you start and finish your day like this guy:

    Fuck Cancer-screenshot_20200315-163322_chrome.jpg

Back when my expartner died 4 years ago, I started my day saying the Lord's prayer with my forehead down on the ground like that, and then a second time at nighttime right before bed. I think most Christians think it's a little extreme to bow down like that for prayer, but I like to remind myself that God is big and I am small.

Words of reality - hit it, and do your best & hope for the same

I been on this real life mission for a bit now, talking to folk of different ages & how they feel about things like this -

Your case, your age - well, of course it’s all u. . . . But, if I had to b in those shoes - fuck it, fight it & give it hell . . At 45 I see “us” having about 2 decades to go. . . Serious shit, GL man - we all need it sometimes more than others

And considering what it is - I have seen one guy walk away from this like it was a bad flu - dude was about 49, got the same(give or take) ran the treatment cycle - then jumped on gear for the first time in his life

I'm so very sorry you have to deal with this shit... I wish I had something inspiring and helpful to say, but this is just so unfair.

I don't pray much, but I'll be thinking about you brother.

I sincerely wish you and your family the best,
    C-

Been just a roller coaster of emotions, can’t even eloquently express what a ride I’m on. What I can express though is coming here, opening this thread and smiling with each and every note and well wish. There’s true power in that. Trying not to get too worried until I get that PET scan, the next 7 day’s of uncertainty is gonna be tough, but I’m up for it. After 3/24 I’ll truly know what kind of fight I can expect. I appreciate you all more than you know. Until then, I’ll be pumping iron and eating, worked too damn hard for these gains

    Stay well

Hang tough, man. Maintaining your normal routine as best as you can will help you keep your balance.

Remember it isn't the fight that the condition brings, it's the fight you bring to the the condition.

I’m so sorry!!! I’m praying for several ppl with cancer and added you.

I’ve learned from patients the hardest thing is dealing with uncertainty and donot allow your thoughts to get away from you....on day at a time....ODAAT

    Advocate for yourself.
    Become informed.
Find oncology team you trust and are comfortable with.
Not all clinics are the same. Trust your gut and instincts. Close isn’t always the best choice.
    An NEVER give up.

Since you are eating healthy your immune system is better than most!!!!

I wouldn’t know what to do with informing kids...I would likely wait until I knew more with the screenings....

Lifting you and your family up in prayer!

Sharing some awesome news with you...one of the ladies I mentioned was reporting to be remission. Here’s the info got just this morning from her sister.

“The regular medical industry gave up on my sister went she developed the 7 lung tumors. She reversed those with her integrative oncologist, that opened eyes and doors to this last treatment. The IO cost her $42000 but he saved her life to be able to tackle this last battle plan. Fight scream and claw!

Before sister started her clinical trial I had found the IO, she met him, started the trial, decided she wasn't getting the additive, so she went back to him. He literally saved her life.

He sends blood to Greece to test for most effective chemo, doses chemo at about 1/3 using glucose controls, and they teach nutrition and mind over body.”

My friend says ‘fight scream and claw’. Her sister is thriving bc she trusted her gut and took an alternative path.

My friend told me IO has patient consume Refined sugar before chemo bc cancer likes sugar and the chemo then tracks directly to the cancer therefore patient not overburdened with harsh treatment throughout the body!!! Innovative Glucose
    Controls.

    You stay positive.
    You stay strong.
    You never give up.
