Lightbulb Free language learning - Duolingo

Does anyone here use the Duolingo app on their phone to learn a language? It's free.

Every Sunday night they tally up the scores and move people up into different leagues.

I started out in Bronze league, then Silver, then Gold. . . . well tonight if everything goes to plan then I'll be bumped up into the second-last league. If I can keep up with everyone next week, then next Sunday I'll be bumped into the last league: Diamond league.

If I make it into Diamond league then I'm gonna try get the title of #1 in the world.

Here I am finishing the German course:

I find if I consistently earn 300 points per day then I'll definitely get bumped up to the next league on Sunday night. Looking at the score board today, I'm confident I'll enter the Diamond league this coming Sunday. The I'll make sure to earn 500 points a day to see if I can rank #1 in the world.

You should also listen to the Podcasts, "Coffee Break French". I had a 70-minute drive to and from work so I listened to that podcast every day. (Well actually I listened to Coffee Break German).

They pretty much just use translations of the same stories and exercises for each language. After you do one, the others get kind of boring to do

If I can keep this going past retirement, it should greatly reduce my risk of dementia or Alzheimer's. And even if I do start to lose my faculties in my later years, hopefully I'll be left with at least one language.

Perhaps you'd care to interact with those around you who care for you

You've already lost those a long time ago. Now you're just some crazy lunatic that trolls steroid websites.
