It’s a shame we all liked him very much and dealt with a lot of crap from him, but in the end he showed his true colors. Now they are getting a little taste of what we had to endure trying to get them to understand what type of negative affect they were having on this forum. They weren’t going to ban anyone over there, they have already banned 20% of there members. It’s not fair how they treated Admin , they were given so many chances and yet they turned and just talk shit. Hopefully things get better for them in their lives, must be something causing them to act this way. Sad.

I don't remember much about the guy from my time here before and he's been gone since my time back. I was reading through some threads recently and I saw him snap and get pretty pissy with Windex - over nothing really. It just came out of nowhere. Something about being undeserving of his staff position. Reminded me of this girl I used to date. That bitch would be telling me how much she loved me one minute and 5 seconds later screaming out from our balcony to the entire Las Vegas strip that I had a small dick - just because I said I didn't care much for the okra. I make it a general rule, regardless of how I feel on the inside, to not be a little bitch on the outside.

    Fried okra is the best!

“Pickled” is also an acceptable answer.

She was trying to saute it with some onions. She was a Hispanic girl. I told her deep fry it with some Jalapenos - stick to what she knows.

Almost anything pickled is acceptable - accept pigs feet. I'm born and raised southern and even I don't do pigs feet. Isn't it amazing how sidetracked a thread can get so quickly?

Yeah, I thought so. But that was MY idea, so of course, she refused. In the end, her ass wasn't worth the attitude. It was pretty damn close though.

pigs feet are good in a stew. You get that meat on them all tender and the gelatin from the bone.

Yes sir, if it's beef, chicken, game meats, etc. Been off the pork for decades. Gave away the last hog I shot.

I know, I've lived in Alabama, NC, and SC, but I feel much better when I don't eat pork. Probably ate my share when I was younger.

I may have to re-evaluate our relationship. This has come as a shock to me. I thought I knew you. Then you pull the rug out from under me.

No I hear you. When we go up to Blue Ridge and there is a bbq place every 1/2 mile and I eat it 4x a day for 3 days my blood pressure is through the roof.

I didn't realize we had so many hunters on the forum. I know anonymity, blah blah blah, but it'd be pretty cool to do a steroid .com hunting retreat one of these days. I'm on a 50,000 acre lease in SE Oklahoma. I could put something together.

Yep. I got in on it a couple of years ago. At the time it was 800 bucks and we had about 150 members. Then the price went way up like 30k a year in total which would've increased the price to about 1000 per year per member. Well, this pissed off a lot of people so they quit the lease. Now we've got about 82 members and we're priced out at 1830 yr. So it's been a huge increase. Personally, I don't care. I'm happy to pay it. Out of those 80+ members only about 20-30 are as hardcore about bowhunting as I am. Most of the guys are just ol timers that bring in their travel trailers and sit around the campfire and bullshit for 2 weeks during modern gun season and MAYBE a week during blackpowder. Not sure where you live, but we're looking for new members. At 1830/yr not many people around these parts can afford it, most of our guys just come up from Dallas. If we can add another 20 members then we can get it back down to 1000/yr. Unfortunately, as it stands right now, it's one person per membership, but there were talks last year about opening it up to immediate family for free and friends for an additional charge. I haven't talk to the guy running it since then. As a matter of fact, I'm not even sure who is running it now. Hope my gate key still works. haha.

We've got some big deer on the lease too. At least for Oklahoma. Last year, I had several 150-170" class deer on camera. But with school and work my time last year was super limited. I only got out about 10 days. On a typical year when I'm not in school, I take off the first 10 days of October and then the last week of Oct - Thanksgiving. I've put in for the vacation time this year. I'm hoping Covid doesn't fvck it all up. Even with only 10 days last year I managed to take a buck good enough to throw on the wall and put down 4 does for the freezer.

So that's what you spent the million dollars on, Dude.

It's awesome that you've got private land to hunt on. I've got a feeling this hunting season is going to be pretty crowded. Got any extra tags?

It's awesome that you've got private land to hunt on. I've got a feeling this hunting season is going to be pretty crowded. Got any extra tags?
Oh, it's not private, really. I mean, I guess you could say it is. It's Weyerhaeuser land. They're a big logging/timber company. They own god knows how many millions of acres of land in North America. As a matter of fact, if I wasn't worried about getting my stands stolen or wanted to put in more effort and hunt more mobile, then I'd just hunt public as I used to. Weyerhaeuser leases 100's of smaller tracts ranging up to 5,000 acres, but I think ours is the largest in OK/AR at 50,000 with the exception of the one they lease to Oklahoma. They lease 750,000 acres that borders our lease to the state of Oklahoma and Oklahoma sales Land Use permits for public hunting. This is the land I grew up hunting. I think it's like 20 bucks for in-state and 80 bucks for out of state. It doesn't get hunted all that much either. I grew up hunting this land and it has the same type of big deer I have on the lease and same deal - hardly any people hunt during bow season. Now, we get a lot of Texans during Gun season, but 750k acres is a lot to spread around so as long as you don't mind driving a bit down some log roads then you really have it all to yourself. Being that it's a logging company there are tons of roads going through it, so it's not like you have to hike in 30 miles to get somewhere either. I've just become old enough that I really hate setting up and tearing down my stand setup every day and I'd rather just leave it up. Besides, my hunting strategies for matured deer have advanced and I've found the closer I can get to the thickest and nastiest bedding areas the better my success. When I say close, I'm talking within 50 yards. Silence is key and banging a stand around just isn't conducive to stealth. OK/AR is a pretty great place to live for public hunting or if you want to find a lease. We just moved back to area last year from Northeastern TN - which is horrible for trying to find places to hunt. It's highly populated and everybody is trying to share scatter 500 acre plots of land - it can be dangerous. Then take Nashoba (where my lease is at) 418 people, the entire county is only 11,000 people and you have that 750k acres for 20-25 bucks, plus another 300k acres of free national forest land that borders it. It's pretty awesome for hunters. Deer in high numbers, Turkey, tons of hogs, black bear, ducks, you name it, it's pretty great. Fishing is good too. I was excited to get back here. Now I just need to finish up with school so I have time to enjoy it.

Unfortunately no. At least not during deer season. Oklahoma laws are stupid. It's legal to deer hunt with dogs in AR, but not OK. I'm on a lease in AR too (I live in AR) but it's smaller and I know they wouldn't be okay with a group. I only use it for quick hunts. The one in Oklahoma is about a 2.5 hr drive for me. You and I both know, and the game warden would also know that your dog is a coon dog and not a deer dog, but that still wouldn't stop them from throwing a fit about it. I'm good friends with one of the game wardens - he's a friend of the family. He's let a few things slide over the years and that pisses the other two off so they try to make up for his generiousity by being super asshats. Not worth it. But if we all have a good time, we could run do it again outside of deer season. We've got a shit ton of coons on the lease that need to be taken out.
