I live in Europe so today's the first time I watched some Biden videos on Youtube. Up until today, I figured ANYONE was better than Trump, and so I was hoping that Trump would have a stroke and that Biden would succeed.
Well after watching a few videos of Biden, I think that he is only a small improvement over Trump. I want Biden to win, but ideally I'd like someone like Obama to come back in -- even though I wasn't at all happy without how he treated the people of Flint over the quality of their drinking water.

Yeah, not really. Trump is a wanna-be dictator who is actively trying to tamper with the election process. He wanted to continue counting votes in Arizona, where he thought he was going to win, but at the same time wanted Pennsylvania to stop counting, where he was heading for a loss. Trump protesters were simultaneously shouting "Count the vote" in AZ, while essentially saying "Don't count the vote" in PA. That's the intelligence level of average Trump supporters, no offence to anyone here (we're steroid gym-head idiots to begin with ;-)).
Now he released a statement basically blaming the media for calling the election (what they've always done) and is making baseless accusations. The republicans would be the first to cheat at anything, as it has been proven time and again, so them calling out bipartisan/non-political voting for fraud and conspiracy, is a conspiracy in and of itself, and a piss poor one at best. Cheating in elections in the good ol’ USA is extremely rare. Regardless of what nutsy keeps pushing on this forum in other threads (Apparently sponsored by Cheeto Hitler) it simply does not happen on the industrial scale needed to change an outcome. Anyone who believes anything else is wrong and should volunteer to count votes and they will see it for themselves.

I'm not going to convince any Republican voters, that's not my game. Most people don't fact check or analyse their news, that's fine you can't be expected to really, and most people don't watch news outside of their own political sphere. Most Democrats don't watch Fox News, they only see clips/snap shots of the worst things they say shared by the people they follow on social media or on their favorite forum, it's called an echo chamber, and it exists because we like to surround ourselves with people/content that agree with us.
It feels bad to see your beliefs turn out to be wrong, so we avoid it.
That's why posting about this shit / arguing about it on the internet is (normally) a waste of time, you're just gonna make people dislike you, I'm on this forum for info about steroids and to have a good time, I'll leave trying to convince people not to vote Republican for my family and personal friends, where I can sit down with them over a few beers and we can chop up some stories, do some fact checking, both realize we had a couple things wrong, find a middle ground and walk away the both of us happy and a little better informed.

Nope, I think trump is a complete narcissist, and probably enjoys the smell of his own shit. But he tried to do exactly what he said he was going to do. Do you think you can equate Joe Biden to any president in recent history? He's won't be near what Obama was. Won't be near what Clinton was. And those are two Dems that I had a great deal of respect for.
Biden would have supported the mass genocide of puppies and kittens if he thought it would help him get elected. He's exploiting minorities in a completely new way, by giving the VP nod to a woman who happens to be black when it suits her, but was Indian when she was elected to congress.
What is sad is that people think putting someone who can claim to be a member of several minorities in a position that is really nothing other than a ceremonial title is going to make a difference for them.
Every president has had some sort of scandalous shit they may or may not have been involved with in my lifetime. All the way back to arm's to Iran and the contra affair. Bush Sr had a few things but he was so boring no one remembers. Bill Clinton couldn't keep his dick out of anything that wasn't his wife, George W got the patriot act passed, basically limiting our privacy and don't forget Enron. Obama had Benghazi and whatever else him and Hillary were into.
What i take issue with is people who see only one side of the coin. Fox news watchers, on one side, and a new generation that acts like media ostriches...burying their heads in the sand of the far left, and blocking the social media feeds of anything that might challenge what they perceive as truth.
So no, I can't equate trump with any president in our lifetime. But i also can't equate Biden to any of them either.

Well I do, and the majority of the country, and the majority of the rest of the world does. I have stated facts repeatedly and nobody challenged me on one. Go check my post history. The reason Obama and Biden didn't get a lot more done is because Mitch Mconnell and the republicans blocked everything that was put on the table.
If you haven't noticed, this wasn't an election about economy (which Donald Trump inherited from Obama btw, as you may already know), but about the character of the nation. If you can turn a blind eye to the rampant lies, attacks on the free press, attacks on our military personnel, McCain while he was dying from cancer, etc., that's on you. For being such a nice guy, I would expect someone of your character and intelligence to understand - at some point, personal benefit and economy do not outweigh the character of a nation and democracy.

For one. I wasn’t standing up for Beetle, not sure how we got disconnected there but we can quickly clear that up.
Secondly, you bet your ass I care about my mortgage and my retirement. That’s my legacy and it’s extremely important to protect what I’ve spent a lifetime building (it’s what I leave for my children...do you have any?). Through hard work and persistence...nothing else. I sure as shit won’t be an apologist for that, or the color of my skin, my gender of whatever the fuck else I’ve been made to feel ashamed of. I’m not sticking up for Trump, he’s an ass. There are some issues he’s supported and some stances that he’s made that I can get behind. His delivery is embarrassing and often times and he can’t get out of his own way.
The last time I checked we live in a free market society and capitalism isn’t a bad word. You can take all the issues with it you want, but don’t push what’s important to you, upon me. If anyone should be upset with some of Trumps taxations, it’s a guy like me. I won’t even get started on my thoughts on welfare and the disgusting violations of standardized health care and social services.

You talk about protesters as the left, but those are just some 19/20 year olds who have nothing better to do than to go cause trouble. I don't agree with any of that, but I believe it is, in large part, due to Donald Trump's rhetoric and verbal attacks, direct or indirect, on minority groups (and his essential support of hate groups). He is the president, he sets the precedence... He holds the responsibility of healing the nation, bringing us together, disavowing racist groups and violence on the streets. He has been one sided. He is a narcissist, so he takes side with whoever is on his side, good or bad. Is there a wonder why we have seen so many more hate groups take a forefront on the world stage and in politics? What does it say when the KKK, Proud Boys, and all these other hate groups all support Donald Trump? What does it say when he says there are fine people on both sides?
I personally don't have any kids, but I know many successful people and very close family members with kids that don't base their voting decision on some tax cut on the rich or temporary effect on their 401k. One look at Trump's autocratic, demagogue-esque behavior during his first election campaign was enough to set off alarms that this guy is not right in the head and will bring this country to chaos. He did. It has happened. Covid or not, this was not looking good. 4 more years and we will have been more divided as a nation. Do you think further division, hate, chaos, riots, corruption from the top down, is good for your portfolio? Do you want your kids to grow up in that type of environment? A successful country is more than just a solid stock market. If the core of a nation is corrupt, everything will be spoiled, including the economy.
You have travelled the world with work, so you must know how we were viewed with the Donald Trump presidency. I too have travelled, in fact I have 3 citizenships. I spent time in a communist country with a history of autocrats and dictators much resembling Donald Trump. Their constituents much resembled his supporters. That's why I get fired up. Because I can see the bullshit right in front of me, and apparently a large portion of people don't seem to care.
Do I agree with everything on the left? No. But I cannot, with a clean conscience, support a group or person who fights dirty, who attacks, deflects, lies, corrupts and makes a mockery of the democratic and political system. Donald Trump is now gone, good riddance. The good thing is, everyone gets to benefit from this, not just those who voted for Biden. The entire world benefits when the icon of democracy remains, in fact, a democracy.
